This artwork is wholeheartedly dedicated for my beloved friend Angel, aka Sapphireverie!

When Korean-made Mystic Messenger game was released on Android and iOS it got me and my friends HOOKED. Initially I didn't get to play the game because I had an outdated Android. But after I forcefully downloaded and installed it, I played the game until my Samsung Note 1 dies, RIP first smartphone T_T Enough rambling about Mystic Messenger hahaha, basically my friends and I were so inspired by it we created our own characters based on ourselves, I even wrote an entire piece of story about us titled FaceFriend (even though it's a crime thriller fiction instead of drama lol).

My talented friend Dinny
designed all of our characters and this is Angel's character Cheon Eunsa. (Cheon, last name. Eunsa, first name.)

The character is an art broker and artist in the story, she is usually outgoing and persuasive but have the tendency to push all her negative thoughts onto her canvas. Cheon Eunsa is an Eurasian woman born and raised at Busan, Korea. Growing up, she had faced many bigotry and racism in the society. Through her experience she has develop many skill set to free herself from the confinement and limitation of being different in her country. When I painted this, I thought of strong independent woman. So, I had a lot of CL and BoA's songs playing in the background (also BlackPink's songs cz they lit). I'm always fascinated by women who could thrive in their career and life, working alongside with men without gender prejudice.

In this painting, the background just screams good vibes of Cheon Eunsa as she can be extremely loyal and a good company to stay with. I chose royal blue to be her main color because she is extremely classy in fashion sense. I sincerely hope this piece of art can aspire people to triumph through conflicts and struggles to never lose yourself in the dark.

I dedicate this entire FaceFriend project to all my amazing online buddies who I am privileged enough to share 7 to 8 years of friendships together since Friendster and Facebook. This would not be possible without your support and love. Thank you!
