Description
Update 18-04: Elaborated on how mage powers work---
1. Can I have any kind of limb for the 'magic limbs' trait? (Such as magic wings, magic multiple tails)
Yes! This won't count as eg. the hidden wings trait, but since they're magical limbs they won't function as the real deal (so magical wings won't allow your Mocchi flight)
2. Does this mean I can have real ears on my Mocchi, but a magical tail, and it won't count towards the Mythic trait ear/tail combo?
Yes!
3. What's the difference between translucency and phantom?
Phantom is essentially just coloured translucency lmao
4. How many types of magic can I put on my regular Mocchi?
Keep in mind that only Fables and Mythics tend to have 3-5+ different types of magic colour.
Each magic type you want to put on your Mocchi no matter its inner/outer colour (eg. blue and yellow magic, and a separate reddish magic), will count as one mage trait for each individual type.
The more colourful a type of magic is, the more skilled that Mocchi is in that power. Magic-touched Mocchin never have multiple colours for their physical magic attributes.
You're required to draw what their magic looks like on the reference, otherwise each colour visible in eg. physical attributes will be counted as a separate mage power!
5. What's the difference between magic-touched Mocchin and mages again?
Magic-touched Mocchin have magic in their DNA (giving them Mage/Pink traits for physical features), but can't cast magic.
Mages or magic casters on the other hand, can cast magic!
6. How many Mage traits do I need to make my Mocchi a mage or magic-touched?
You'll need at least one Mage trait to give your Mocchi a mage power (and magic colour), and multiple if you want to give them magical attire pieces and physical attributes, or multiple magic types!
You'll need at least one Mage trait to give your Mocchi a physical attribute to make them mage-touched
7. How many Mage traits do I need for magic limbs or detached limbs?
You need one Mage trait for each limb type! So if you wanted a magic limb (or detached limb) for ears and an arm, you'll need two traits.
---
1. Decide whether your Mocchi is a mage caster or just magic touched. In case of a magic caster, you're required to show what their magic looks like on the reference. See question 4 above for elaboration.
2. Keep in mind that each single piece of attire with mage effects needs 1 mage trait each, and each type of magic power your Mocchi has cneeds 1 mage trait each as well.
3. Once the reference is finished, make sure your Mocchi with Mage traits is submitted to the Visual Masterlist for registration! (You can also get the design approved there, or here in the comments if you wish)
Welcome to the Visual Mocchi Masterlist!

Can they talk (the species in general not just the mages)

the mocchin with mouths can actually speak yeah, but all mocchin can communicate with one another through various languages besides spoken languages (eg. sign language) so mocchin with eg. eyes can communicate with the ones that have mouths
hopefully that explains it!

Hey! So, in the Big MYO Guide, the Fable MYO section mentions "any magic power the Fable has counts as a Fable/Mythic trait." Does this mean a Fable could have multiple types of magic and not need to spend any mage traits for them?
Also, does the magic have to be flame-like? Or can it take a different form (like being shaped differently)?
π: 0 β©: 1
Syrinq In reply to Allunari [2020-04-24 03:20:57 +0000 UTC]
yes, that's correct! you can give your Fable eg. 3 magic powers that fit with their theme (the magic powers MUST fit with their theme) and it'll all count as fable traits!
and you can draw magic however you want, eg. a more slimy substance, more gas-like, etc.
as long as it doesn't have a shape (eg. always shaped like a butterfly) it's fine!

Quick question! If a mocchin has magic limbs/aura/etc, can they turn it on and off at will, or have it expressed in certain areas (like only around the hand rather than the entire body)? Alternatively, could it be affected by something like emotion?
Edit: Another idea I was considering but was unsure if it was possible: would something like telekinesis be possible using a mage trait?

1. yeah magic limbs/aura can be triggered on and off, although i'd imagine it's mostly on
and aura is around the entire body, magic limbs can be on eg. just the hand
and telekinesis for small objects is fine, having a mocchi lift something like a big dog or tree would be too much strain already

yes, you just need 2 mage traits for that, 1 for magical ears and 1 for a magical tail!

Questionnnn
can you make the magic limbs only pink or can you make em any color Like blue in its spectrum

Syrinq In reply to AquaticSpider [2020-02-05 04:45:53 +0000 UTC]
you can have your mocchi's mage magic be anything, just keep in mind it can't be eg. green on one limb and yellow on another limb, since that'd count as two magic types (and that requires two mage traits)

Can the phasing/wisps be shaped? Like, I'm tempted to add phasing to my fable, but I was thinking about the phasing particles being more star-shaped. Is that possible or nah? Same goes for wisps-

1. yep! if you want them to keep their mage powers! (however honn has been directly received from me, so their mage traits aren't recorded in the ML and you won't need to ask for additional traits for them- you've got permission from me to just add a mage power for them as a trait)
2. yes, that'll count as 3 mage traits! however fable MYOs come with 2 free mage traits, but you can ask for their ''missing traits'' since the design was already approved!
3. just counts as 1 magical attire!
hopefully this helps!

i'd say practice with other mages, take some sort of mage school or follow the rulings of a powerful mythic/fable they believe in, or by sheer luck just be blessed by a fable/mythic, hopefully that helps! <:
and thank you!
