I wonder what Sey's connection is to Yria. Sure Sey is a Proto-Thilian but her and the Ceiphians all seem different. Plus, her sprygin was mutated and seemingly has no origin.Β

Incest aint gonna be good for the genetics of the children, unless we are working on Greek/Norse mythology rules which go as "Incest? what's that?"
Not to dishearten you though, just stating it seems a bit odd.

Thilians are relatively immune to theΒ detriments of incest. Their cells simply replace the faulty parts of their genes with functional ones from a backup chromosome. This means that they're also immune to mutations to an extent.
However, this doesn't mean that they're completely without problems. Some breeds still get traits that are undesirable, but not on the deadly scale us humans get.

So Thillian's kinda work like X X Chromosome pairs but for their entire genome?
You see females turn off the spare Chromosome by making it unreadable but will activate parts if it turns out the activated gene is faulty for whatever reason I.e Haemophillia.
I'm assuming Thillans work on something similar but on a larger scale.
As for the issues Thillians do suffer from i'd be quite curious to know what issues they have genetically , every animal on earth and probably beyond has some issue or another genetically.
Like do some have a form of down syndrome? or other extra chromosome disorder? Do they suffer from alien forms or autism or Aspergers? Do they even have still births or particually crazy genetic disorders like osteogenesis imperfecta or FOP (AKA Statue syndrome)?
Just because you've never really brought up the medical side of the Thillians bar the Anatomy and physiology of them, i'd like to know, for fictional science.

Well, that's quite alot of information to require. But I did make a basic anatomy chart and another explicit one that you can find as a link in the description of that first anatomy chart. When it comes to their diseases, I did say "not on the deadly scale us humans get" which would exclude still births.
Most of those syndromes/diseases you've listed are human ones. The Thilian may have been based on the human anatomy, but they were mainly created and perfected by what is essentially a god. So they'd have completely new defects if any at all. Most of them are minor ones, like Pirizuka's inability to use her strength past a certain threshold, as her muscles keeps shutting off. Which is why she falls flat on her face by trying to land from a high jump. It's a small detail, but some Thilians have it.

What do you mean by me not being sure about it? You think I haven't thought the functions of this fictional species through enough? I mean, I have spent close to 10 years working on the Thilians.

It sounds as if they'd be rather vulnerable to viruses that evolved or were genetically engineered to target their precise genetic code directly. Sort of the same reasons why bananas are very threatened in our real world- because almost all of them are genetic clones of the same original plant, a virus that is very adapted to this one genetic code can whack almost the entire global population in one go and will be effective to all of them. That's the main reason that genetic recombination exists- in order to avoid becoming prey of very specialized microorganisms.
Maybe those viruses have been brewing since the Cephians mutated during the destruction of the earth and are just about to start pandemizing.

There are no viruses or bacteria that has the ability to infect a Thilian. Their biology is simply incompatible with natural biology. You do know that they were created by Tyg? Basically a 7 billion year old near-omnipotent alien biologist.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you have total control over life itself, it simply won't find a way. But if it makes you happy, Thilians do have deadly diseases of their own.

I'd imagine that these defects have names though, doubt Pirizuka would like going to a medic, asking why her muscles keep shutting down only to be met with a shrug.
