Rainer is interesting character design-wise; he is practically a pure combination of two very different dravene race and has combined features from both his parents, which make him distinct in the are he lives. He has so dark green skin it looks nearly black in dim light.Or red light.
Dravenes and their odd musculature because of that huge tail...
Anywayh. Here is Rainer and yes he's naked if somebody had any doubts.

Not all sure what make him up but part horse comes to mind a bit in this image. I like the traditional design and how the red filters through even over the green near black condition, I am guessing this is red because sunset glow. An as I see it, he is dam proud and does not mind what others think so showing off and being naked while doing so, why the hell not? I think the pose and eyes show a sense of being content, even as rough and tumble he is as a mixed breed, well drawn.

In-story wise they have evolved from critters similar to ancestors of horses - even if they were not related, just similar in a way like thylacines and wolves were, for example. (Design-wise, 10 years ago when I created most of dravene characters, their faces looked just same like I drew horse faces...)
Red is red because it is red, sometimes there's no reason other than whatever was the idea.
Dravenes tend to be very self-confident overall, Rainer is not an exception. Besides he has an advantage: his long bright red crest. That is not common in the area he lives, but all dras regardless the gender have similar in-built taste that long feathers/bright feathers are appealing. Not that he would mind too much, but he has got a charisma bonus nevertheless.

Sounds like he make a great D&D character to play with. I figured he was naturally red, just the sky made his red show off in greater detail than otherwise seen in sunset. But so he is rare but still has the mindset and the good looks, well then so be.

D&D has its own species to use. I don't personally prefer trying to squeeze all own little creations into already existing universes, unless it is in the purpose of some sort of crack rpg-session.

I just say D&D as it is something that can be related to, as compared to some other form of RP campaign that still used the dice roles. (as for these said characters.)

Yes you are right. Though nearly all dravenes fall into that category... Rainer is also very calm and that is what not every dra can do.
