Description
This is the final project I did in my fourth year of college (which I've just basically finishedThis project needed to fit inside a 1m x 1m box, so I chose to make a 1:70 scale architectural model of the Phoenix Hall in Byodo-in Temple Complex, Kyoto, Japan. I painted it to resemble how it originally appeared when it was built in 1053AD, using the replica temple in Hawaii as a reference. This was a 22 week project in which every hour of every day was spent working on it since January.
The first 5 weeks of the project were spent doing proper drawings in AutoCAD, to make sure everything that had to be laser cut was done, and they all fit together. It took several weeks to assemble. There are literally thousands of individual components to this model. I must count them sometime. XD Anywaaay hope you liiike.

*****EDIT*****
I GOT AN 'A'!!!!
I also counted the pieces. There are approx. 2,855 pieces. XD Or thereabouts.

Thanks ^^ I donβt know either xDD It was six months solid work with at least six or seven weeks of planning and drawing and figuring it out before any pieces were made.

Your model is insane ! Great Job! Would you be bale to provide me with the real dimensions of the building? As I'm doing a uni project myself on the temple and need to create a model to scale but i cant find the dimensions :/

I made my own AutoCAD drawings for it based on images of the temple. Took a really long time to get it all together.

How could I get a copy of these plans you must have had to do your acad dwgs with. Or how could I get copy of your .dwg files from acad. Do they exist as .stl and/or .3ds, and/or .dxf?

I made the plans myself over 5 weeks on autoCad, based on photographs and any images I could find because there were no plans available. I haven't made them available to download or buy.

I just got a small insight on building models in university for my studies... very simple ones, though.
ItΒ΄s such a huge amount of work... ItΒ΄s fun though, but takes so much time... and patience
You did an awesome job here.

Thank you! The roofs were so tedious to make.
All those roof tiles are individually glued on over roofs that I had to make myself. I couldn't think of any other way to make them. But it worked. XD
