Description This is the final project I did in my fourth year of college (which I've just basically finished ). It's being assessed by internal and external examiners all this week. But I'm very proud of it as a final piece.

This project needed to fit inside a 1m x 1m box, so I chose to make a 1:70 scale architectural model of the Phoenix Hall in Byodo-in Temple Complex, Kyoto, Japan. I painted it to resemble how it originally appeared when it was built in 1053AD, using the replica temple in Hawaii as a reference. This was a 22 week project in which every hour of every day was spent working on it since January. The roofs are all handmade, as are the bases, the floors and pillars. The tinier detail (and it was TINY) were drawn in AutoCAD and then laser cut. The white acrylic walls and red outer detail are also laser cut. Everything red is made of wood. Everything is spraypainted using either cans (red) or a spraygun (roofs and bases). Each individual floorboard is painted yellow around the edges (it took so looong ) but the floors themselves are spraypainted brown.

The first 5 weeks of the project were spent doing proper drawings in AutoCAD, to make sure everything that had to be laser cut was done, and they all fit together. It took several weeks to assemble. There are literally thousands of individual components to this model. I must count them sometime. XD Anywaaay hope you liiike.

*****EDIT*****
I GOT AN 'A'!!!!

I also counted the pieces. There are approx. 2,855 pieces. XD Or thereabouts.

Wow, that is incredible!
My mind boggles at the hours you must have put into this.
Really puts my high school balsa constructions to shame.
I love architectural models, I can just sit there and look at them for hours
Fascinating.
