This is WAY too adorable. SO TRUE. I'm with McCoy, as cool as they are, transporters, holodecks and the like are all too shiesty to be trusted. If a little space-dog can't come through without some sort of hideous defect, just imagine what it'll do to you!

Not quite sure what you mean by that comment. I know it was a Kirk focused story and the alien dog helped the plot. Is that what you mean?

Two sides of Kirk and the space dog (good and bad sides) divided into two bodies, hence this one nice space dog is half the story.
