After I got tired of painting in my last stream I decided to doodle around a bit and after at first I drew SheoCheese s sona 1.0 completely from my memory Sheo decided I should do the same with the first version of mine own sona Extasy. For the fun of it (and too make it a bit more challenging) I decided I wouldn't only draw her first design by heart but try to recreate her first standalone as closely as possible just from my memory. Above you can see the old version (top) and my attempt to recreate it from my memory only (bottom). Idk how many weeks and months have passed since I last took a look at the original but it was plenty time.

To the people from the stream: yeah I know I edited in the wing after I had looked at the original again but as you saw in the chat I DID remember that I had drawn a wing in the original and how her hair was clipping through it. I tried to be as sincere as possible and draw it the way I remembered it (having green fingertips, I forgot those had a white rim )

So yeah to analyze this really quickly. The colors are all off by being too dark. Fun fact: if you set the color layer to about 80% opacity it's pretty darn spot on, haha. I remembered that I had drawn her grey because I was at the time too dumb to portray black properly. I gave myself too much benefit of a doubt and made that grey too dark though. Because I used that as a base all the other colors turned out too dark as well probably because my brain was using the darker grey as a template and picked the colors as a deviation from that? Who knows how that worked but it's fun to see that everything is about 20% darker than it shoul
After being done with the lines halfway I remembered that she had horns back in the day! I even remember that they were curved twice but I made them a lot more curved than they ought to, haha.
I also faintly remembered the way I drew faces back in the day and tried to recreate that although I could not properly pinpoint the way that made her "look kinda sassy" (like my brain was telling me) in the original. She's also looking into the wrong direction.
I'm slightly proud that I pretty much recreated her ears by 100%. I knew they were being held upright in that standalone.
As for the hair I just knew that there was a lot of it and that she had that particular strain in the middle of her back but I made that one curve into the wrong direction. It's also posterior of the marking when it should be anterior, haha.
I also remembered that her tail was curled up and big overlapping tufts of hair were hanging down from it. I let her rest it on the ground instead of holding it up though, so I got that part wrong.
Her backlegs had clysedale hair already which I did not forget entirely although my brain only wondered whether she had no clysedale hair or a version of it that was much longer than what she really head so I just opted to draw none at all because I couldn't figure out that there was short!clysedale hair.
I pretty much nailed the placement of the markings. I forgot the ones on her elbow feathers completely. But I remembered she had one on her neck which is only barely visible in the original but the recreation has a lot more neck visible so I just naturally filled in the missing parts of the markings because I knew it was there, haha. I kinda freestyled the markings on the tail but kinda got almost right positions there as well xD I remembered that the markings on her shoulders had a white outline and I was unsure on whether or not all her markings had a white outline. Which makes sense in the afterthought because all of them had a BRIGHT outline...it was not a white one on all of them though, haha.

So yeah, all in all I think I got pretty close, haha. It's interesting to see how the brain files away information of a picture that you feel like you can conjure up in your mental eye by 100%. Feel free to try it out! It's a lot of fun!
