I wish I knew what you meant by that sentence. I have three non-native speakers stumped by what it could mean and now we're all confused, haha.
I came to know her when I wrote her a note about 7 years ago when I just joined deviantArt. And somehow she wasn't repelled by my appalling english and horrible clingyness back in the day and thus we were able to become friends, haha.
And no I can't say that I like memes in general. Some are fun but I prefer normal conversations over the back and forth slinging of nonsensical stuff that the internet came up with. By all means I do enjoy inside-jokes that I came up with my friends and maybe recycled ones from the internet that have some kind of meaning to the relationship but just senselessly regurgitating stuff instead of having a normal conversation is kinda repelling to me. Sorry if I happen to come on a bit strong but I've had bad experiences with a former good friend who descended into simply replying to almost everything I said with dumb memes and shittalking and I don't want to relive that ever again. It's a conversation killer to me basically. Again, sorry if this response did sound a lot more stern than you expected it too but you've touched a sensible subject haha.

Yeah I get what you mean, most memes nowadays are either racist, sexist or just earbleeders. Only a few of them really thought out things are cool. That reminds me.

I don't think being great friends needs that much skill though. Being on the same wavelength is just a given.Β
Shin and I share a few interests such as anatomy, wordbuilding and science that we can talk about and discuss in so much depth that people think we are fighting, haha.
Idk how improbable it is to become friends after initiating conversation via note. I think the only other way on here is comments, really. So not that big of a coincidence but I'm glad you could meet a great friend on dA c:

Aha, thanks, actually i haven't tried to talk with anyone about how they got their friends other than you, so i was quite surprised hehe, i thought there were many ways pft hehe, now that i think about it, you're right. Me and my friend really talks about anything that crosses our minds, such as certain interests, drawing styles, how many gays he's able to make, aliens, robots, creature making, and a lot other. So we hold conversations pretty. Also anatomy is a great thing, love it tbh.
