Androids are typically portrayed as mechanical or electronic human-lookalikes, and Mecha-Synthetic Androids are no different. Completely inorganic, they lack many flaws that are found in flesh, such as those of frailty and organic disease. However, they lack organic strengths as well, such as gradual, independent change and physical self-improvement. They also are vulnerable to many of the things that other electronic devices are damaged by, such as electromagnetic-pulses (EMPs) and corrosive substances, should they manage to find their way under the insulated exterior. Appearance-wise, Mecha-Synths tend to be androgynous, though some lean more towards different extremes, and all of them occupy some part of the uncanny valley. In terms of personality, they are straightforward, consistent, and generally unwilling to give up, though they occasionally fall victim to circular logic or are modified in their programming. Though early models run on binary code, later variants operate on systems not unlike those found in Isaac Asimov's tales of robots.
