I think they -can- recharge them (if they are accus), but I imagine that'd take a fuckton of mana and energy.

I don't think they have batteries. More like some kind of energy gems or something similar.

Yeah, possibly, since Ponyville is seen to owning some sort of water-powered power plant with tesla coils (or, at least Command & Conquer games call them tesla coils; according to the definition a friend found they are tesla coils used to convert the energy created by the generator) which might be used to give power to only important things. Power gems would be better option too than accus.

Totally. Magic + Gameboy = super awesome wireless gameboy with headset audio in/out support that adds multiplayer modes not present in the games...

(Now that I think about it, this is when she was a filly, which was over 1000 years ago, technically she shouldn't even have the Gameboy :/)
