I did something like this once...then I went into the Nether. A Ghast shot at the portal and it went out. I had no flint and steel on me. I had to kill myself, and I was carrying my diamond pick and my map. When I came back, someone had taken the time to destroy my house. And the giant creeper I had made for the map.

lol, I made a land bridge 3 pixels wide on my map, it goes from the bottom left corner to the bottom right, of coarse I originally made it BEFORE the map feature was added, I just wanted to go as far as I could before I hit more land, I mostly use it for farmland now

if you have 10 hours real time I suggest you do it, I'm never ever going to run out of sugar cane nor wheat
