I'm not to fond of the new Mario Kart 8 DLC (and I'm sure a lot of you share the same feeling)But it's free, so it's not too bad
Hard to believe Nintendo is doing product placement...

Well, I agree, to a certain extent. I'm not a big fan of product placement. Yes, its a business strategy, and if someone feels they need to do it, fine, I won't judge.
That having been said, I think this is the good kind of product placement (yes, such a thing exists.) Instead of just placing a bunch of signs everywhere, they gave you some new parts for the game. In other words, they gave you something fun that can enhance your game, should you choose to use them. And you know, I used the three body types and the wheels at least once already, and they handle pretty well.
And yeah, their free, and who can say no to free stuff?

Yeah, I have seen worse product placement (mainly in Michael Bay films), but I still don't really like this one all to much (it's not TERRIBLE, but it's not all that good)
I'm pretty sure the Mercedes wheels are just the standard wheels with a different texture
The silver one that actually looks like a race car handles pretty well and doesn't feel too out of place, but the other two are just OK and pretty ugly
But it is free, so yeah... Shouldn't complain too much

This is FAR from the first time Nintendo's done product placement. They also had 7up and Duracell batteries in the GameCube Pikmin games, and Kawasaki Jet Skis in Waverace 64. It's free DLC anyways so why complain?

That's part of what I've been sayin'. Nintendo is a business, after all, so using product placement isn't exactly below them.
Plus it's free and adds a few new choices to the game. That's a good way to advertise, as far as I'm concerned.

Still makes more sense that whatever the fuck that Yogcast thing was in Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed. They already managed to butcher the TF2 crossover and that alone is inexcusable.

The best part of this DLC is that Donkey Kong can finally achieve his dream of driving around in a fancy car.

Well believe it or not I never played Ruby and Sapphire, so I'm kinda looking forward to these remakes (I didn't like Black and White, X and Y didn't seem that interesting to me, but the Ruby and Sapphire remakes seem pretty good)

I should also mention that Sega did something similar to this when All Stars Racing Transformed was released. They allowed Wreck it Ralph and some racer not related to them at all into their games, obviously advertising them both. It's just a way to advertise the new car and the game and if that's so wrong of them then I've lost all hope in the gaming community.

Well SEGA no stranger to selling out, Sonic Adventure 2 SOAP was everywhere
Wreck-it-Ralph I thought was OK for the game (because at least he was somewhat related to game) but Danica Patrick really had no place there
Same with the Mercedes, it doesn't really belong in a Mario game, but it's there because they're getting paid
