If you know me, you know I've been working on this for months.I've been doing what I can to better the last one. I'm surprised every morning to see that people are still looking at that thing. But I've made a point to myself that I enjoy drawing these lil guys when I don't want to draw humans.
There is something about their timeless influence on my childhood that makes me adore them.

I know this is an old pic but somehow I hadn't seen it until now and it really made my day. It's great to see such a lovingly done rendition of these characters. There's somewhat of an unfortunate rift between some Chipmunk fans who subscribe exclusively to either the classic or computer animated versions. I enjoy both and generally recluse myself from any discussions on the subject but today I was on a hair-trigger and a mere heartbeat away from mercilessly flaming the first hapless sap to utter one derogatory word about my beloved CGI Chipmunks. Then I found this. The reassurance that someone else loved them enough to do a piece like this totally disarmed my irrational fanboy rage. Really nice work.

I actually had another picture up, but it was before the release of the first cgi movie, and had to take it down due to the negativity, I had to block too many posts that it looked strange.
What I find strange about it is, is that both kinds were made by the same group of people, therefore, the heart is still there. The new media form is a bit to get used to.
I plan to do a new one, since I feel I can capture them even better now, as an animator. At the time, there wasn't much known about the 3d chipmunks to grasp if they were going to be the same or not.

I come to like drawing the 80's and 90's style but if there ever is going to be one with the girls, then I'd totally do it.
