I saw the film ‘Gods of Egypt last weekend and after I saw the scene with the sphinx creature I was inspired to do my own version of it. This one is more cat-like and also a man not a woman. anyway it was fun to sketch that creature in Zbrush.

Really cool creature design that reminds a bit of some Mesopotamian sphinx designs that I've seen. When I first saw this pic, the word that sprung first to mind was indeed "sculpted", and I like that - there is something cool with a creature that looks like it has a body that is somewhere between flesh and carved stone. The human features look harsh and watchful, but not evil. Nice work!

Awesome stuff, I really like your various predatory cats as well. Surprised you haven't gone ahead and done a griffin yet, I think it would be great if you did, maybe a male and female too to play around with design differences!
