It's amusing; I remember watching the first Merlin episode when I was so young with my younger sister. It didn't seem to appeal to me then; perhaps the dark and sinister plots were too eerie for me. I was young.
Anyway...now! Now it's different! I'm really into mediaeval times and I've created many roleplays on an app named wattpad. Merlin just interests me as a character; having to hide his magic due to the prejudice of other people, having his entire life planned out and he has no say in it. Also...you've got to love his sassy remarks.

I finished my run through of Merlin few minutes ago, and shed tears.
It was amazing serial and I'm so sad it's finished few years ago than I started watch it.
I'm so sad now. I don't know what I should do....I want next season. Because of the end of it. Merlin in nowdays. Thank you Colin (Merlin) and Bradley (Arthur) for this serial. I should stop talking about it and say you, your work is nice. It make me sadder.

I was there while season 4 and 5 aired live and I was one of the many who were very upset that we wouldn't be getting more seasons or the movies that they had been promising the fans because the creators split off from the company making Merlin and made their own production company and then started up Atlantis on the BBC which didn't last very long. It was very sad that Merlin went down the way it did because I think it had a whole lot more to do but because of the behind the scenes stuff we go the very rushed series finale we did.

I think Merlin should have better series finale. Every series they said that Arthur unite Albion and magic won't be unlawful, but it didn't happen. So I don't understand finale of Merlin. I think they should do more series when were be unite Albion and allowed magic. But it doesn't matter, Merlin had finished yet. It was amazing serial and it will be still my favorite.Β

It ended so abruptly because they were planning on doing so much more and then things came up so they had to rush a series finale rather than a season finale which is why they went right to the death of Arthur and the obvious not letting of magic be lawful and out in the open since it looked like Merlin was still hiding who and what he truly was in the last shot while waiting for Arthur's return.
