It doesn't matter where any of us are in the world - The sunsets are similar and beautiful.  This could have been taken here in the USA.

Keep up the good work ~ Stacy

Thank you, Stacy! The light of sunset makes every location look a bit more beautiful! Photography is a universal language - and I prefer photos which are not "location-centric"

Exactly!  That's a great way to put it; I didn't think of it that way.  I've only thought of music like that, before now.  Thank you for opening up my eyes just a little bit more today ~ Stacy

I think the idea that photography can be compared to music is very interesting.
(For comparison, photographer Alec Soth believes that "photography can be compared to literature" - "to poetry rather than the novel" and ... to fishing. bleek-magazine.com/interviews/… ) Art critics write about the "uniqueness of music" and (sometimes) have doubts whether photography is "indeed an art form" ("The basis for this doubt usually arises from the fact that photography is a mechanical art and the corresponding belief that it employs a purely causal process into which artistry cannot enter". See Philosophy of the Arts: An Introduction to Aesthetics by Gordon Graham books.google.com/books?id=dpZF… p.82-83, 106-107 and so on). As "music has to be listened to and nothing can replace this experience", in the same way, photography has to be seen. It is much more than documenting reality.

I think your style is quite impressive. As for me, I rely on post processing software too much

I believe you use effects with elegance. I shoot with hdr very often. I use the awesome Google Nik Software which is now free.

Capturing sunsets prior to HDR was a difficult task... What's good concerning Google Nik Software is that you don't need Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) to use it (see, for instance, www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzcbM9… ).
