I would have cleaned the background in post, the little spots bother me personally. It takes away from the clean factor in my opinion. I also think lighting could have been a lot better, the idea is good but I think you ultimately end up looking washed out. The shadows aren't as crisp as I feel they could be. 'Muddy' comes to mind first before anything else. I think you can save the contrast with a slight level adjustment. It currently lacks that POW! factor. I've said before that I think your cropping needs work. For lack of a better term, it seems myspace-y. Like you got the idea to be artsy but lost interest halfway through and said "F*** it I'll get views because I'm about naked." I wish I could like it more, but what I've mentioned really bothers me. I'd go back to the original file and reevaluate it with an open mind.

I would like to say that, in my humble opinion you are being overly critical of this person. I say this because even in the most perfect place where every thing is controlled not every picture will be the same, due to small factors like breathing and small muscle movements will drastically change a mood from excited and happy to forced and uneasy (even the backdrop as well cannot be fully controlled). I am a person who has studied body language and even though a novice I can see the differences in this. I also would like to say that this "muddy" look is a lot lighter than in my photos mostly because of the studio level of professionalism he employs over my "darkened room". Where too much light can give away to much in my room but if I don't give enough light then I get a black picture. I even envy this "muddy" look because you can clearly see everything he is showing with a little darkness to add to the mystery or sex appeal; something I have to work at and still am unable to get right half the time. Personally, I think he has done an amazing job and pulls it off. But, Thank you for giving an honest critique and I hope I have not offended you as I am just trying to defend my own position.

Not too many times do I see something in the shadows and say"Oh, nice! I like it!" But I indeed like this for several reasons. Putting all the technical comments that have been made aside, I like it because the stance is perfect! The angle of your right wrist breaks the straight arm line and I think that makes for a better look. Your posture is perfect, and your out-spread fingers make for a more dramatic look. I love the lighting showing just enough of you to make the viewer asking for more. It truly puts a comic book superhero feel to the photo. I am sure that is not what you intended, but as an artist, that is what I see.
I think the only thing I would suggest to be different, is that I would love to have seen this same pose from head to toe. But that is just what I see. With such a dramatic pose, I would have loved to see what you had done with your feet in the stance. I say do it again and show us more!
Job well done!

I didn't mean to make you speechless, but I did want to comment. I enjoy seeing something that someone has done here on dA that makes me WANT to comment. This was one of those times. As much as I love getting comments on my art, I love giving my thoughts as well, to those who work hard to put up great deviations!
Hope it made you feel good.

nice - but try it again without the wristwatch - it throws the balance off a bit. Shoot it and judge it yourself. great idea.

The darkness in general, with your arms held back as such, and your torso slightly thrust the forward, the sense of depth in this photo is highly skewed... and I think that's why I like it so much.

Hmm i dunno i marked it fair, because its always hard to hear cirtic but, in the end its the only thing that makes you better. My this seems a little hard, i respect the opinion of that member.
But thanks for marking unfair ^^'

I'm glad to read that you marked the critique fair. It makes a lot of sense, from a photography standpoint. Of course the model is exercised and well-defined, but that just doesn't make a picture instantly good.
However!- I did like reading your description. It was good to read that you have a possible deeper meaning for it. I've seen some of your newer photos, and they're really great. Great vantage points- it's great.
I'm glad you take criticism well and maturely!

The pose is good, but I think the light should be back, behind you a bit more, more shadow, less color, though not B&W, ya know.
And it'd look cool if you're hair frizzed out a bit more at the bottom, the left side of your hair, at the bottom kinda frayed out like that.
But that's jus' personal opinion.
Nice pose, and nice shot~
