Roarke was basically the same as Mephisto, since he made the deal with Johnny, as Mephisto did in the first film, so they're the same character in my eyes. I liked Ciaran Hinds in the second movie, but it would have been better if Peter Fonda had been in it. Would have made Johnny's anger towards him more emotional, IMO. But the Devil blends in wherever he/she goes, so a European gentlemen would make more sense, as opposed to a very American looking and sounding fellow like Fonda.
But if you've read Chapter 3, we find out who the caller is.

I sort of see it the same way, but there's qualities to Roarke that are different than Mephisto.

For instance, Mephisto was clearly pissed about Johnny running off with the power of the GR (and Roarke isn't too happy about the Rider meddling in his plans), and Johnny was clearly mad at him for doing what he did to his father. I just feel it would've added extra depth to the relationship between the two had both actors returned. Would've made GR slamming him into the ground with his chain even more satisfying.
Oh yeah bro, ever since early yesterday afternoon. I think you'll like it the best, I certainly do. Lilith makes her move and we finally get some GR action.

Well the obvious one is that he can change his appearance and changes every time
he comes back to Earth, but there's also the fact that every time he uses his powers
while he's in his human form, his body falls apart and in order to use his powers in a
human form without that happening, he decides to transfer himself into Danny, making
him the Anti-Christ

The way I see it, his appearance in the first movie is one of those forms, and the one in SOV is another, even if in Johnny's flashbacks he appears the same he does in the rest of the movie. Exactly on the last bit. I was also considering having Danny in this story (as Vengeance), but I decided against it, as they already merged him with another GR character, who was the son of the Devil in the comics.
"You! The worst fucking deal I ever made!" & "That felt good" (after punching him) come to mind from both of them showing how they feel about each other.
No worries, you were busy. But I feel you'll like 3 and the upcoming 4 the best.

Well that wasn't necessarily established in the first one though and SOV and its connection
to the first is a little weird since it's sort of a sequel, but also a little reboot. It is Blackheart?

If they were basically going to reboot it, they should have not kept Nic Cage. It had been five years since the first one, so they could have completely rebooted it, like with "Hulk" & "TIH", or "SM3" & "ASM". Granted, audiences could have still been confused, like with the Hulk films, but it would have been better that way. Now, if you know obscure stuff like me, like the fact that Christopher Lee also portrayed two separate versions of Dracula, then you can find similarities. But not everyone knows that like I do.
I only found out about it while reading stuff online when SOV came out, and some GR fans pointed out that Danny was like Daimon, who is also half human, half devil.
So why don't you get your hiney over to Chap 3 and tell me what you think.

I didn't either, but as I pointed out, there's some things I would have done differently to link the two. What did you not like about SOV?
Part of the reason I feel Vengeance would be served better as another character, and I feel there's a more interesting angle to there being another GR, than it being another dude.

I think it's more interesting for there to a female Ghost Rider (if there is another), as opposed to just another dude getting it. There's Vengeance for that.

I don't blame you to an extent, as they're just bare-bones. I learned a lot from that second disk though, regarding the history of the GR.
Oh, well I need to fix that right now. I'm absolutely not against a movie having a female protagonist. I just don't want it to be done just "because", because women feel they are overshadowed by men. I want a movie to feature a female lead, and it make sense. A lot of feminists have forgotten that there's a uniqueness to female led films, and yes they are out there. They just aren't dominating everything. And that to me, is boring, and unnecessary. Perhaps they feel the same about male-led films, but that's done in genres where it makes sense, and really doesn't matter. I don't like the negative implications such a thing could bring, and there are some, despite what people will tell ya.
