Description
Man, I know it's disgustingly inaccurate, but I will always be in love with the anatomy of the Jurassic Park raptors. They're just so fun to draw! This is a sketch that's a few months old. Wanted to give it some color while keeping the original sketch, rather than going over it with lines in SAI like I do with most of my art. Not supposed to be any particular color scheme or inspired by anything, just wanted to come up with something on my own.

I love feathered raptors first and foremost. However, the JP raptors' iconic appearance just screams "awesome attack-monster species" to me, and I plan to have hordes of JP raptor-based mook creatures in a lot of my stories. So you can say that it's an acquired taste.
The skull face on this one takes it closer to the uncanny valley than most. Then again, of course, I think that's a good thing.

And the lack of feathers, proportions of the body...

What's wrong with the proportions?

The Jurassic Park raptors hardly look anything like an actual raptor.

Well the raptor skeletons I've seen on display didn't differ too much, other than the arms and the size.
