This theory is wrong: the Mala'kaks (engineers) simply messed with the genetic code of the Xenomorphs in order to create multiple strains of genetic weapons. in the instance of Fifield and in nearly all other instances of the use of the "black goo" on humans, the effects where different. If they weren't, the "Deacon" class Xenomorph would look more like a normal Xenomorph, as opposed to the cone-headed nearly detail-less triple-jawed marvel that it was.Β

Those of you who don't know, Fafield was going to have a Xenomorph type head after exposure to the black fluid. The scene was gonna be CG, but they didn't wanna take the actor out of the scene so they made him look like a zombie, in my opinion, instead of a Xeno.
