I'm in agreement with you on this being one of the best sequences in the movie, and when you take into account the reason why Ripley chants that lullaby as she moves out to confront the Alien, that she's thinking of her daughter, Amanda, and trying to take strength and courage from her daughter through the lullaby she sings to her at night, it just makes that final sequence all the more impactful and tension-filled.

I don't think so because I remember watching it and maybe 1/3 of the film has full shots of the alien. The other 2/3 was everyone's reaction to the creature and fear of it still living in the ship. You captured the 2/3 essence of fear and wondering if it is still there.
