It's quite refreshing to see something vampire related without an actual vampire in it ! (a whole one actually!). I also like the fact you don't show the classic stake/crucifix. I don't know if that is what you intended, but the flames on the background evoke torches to me, like the classic "walk with pitchforks" scenario.

Glad you like it ! Actually that was the point, I wanted to tell a story without showing so much. I like the idea that everyone can interpret this pic the way he want. I'm really glad you did it, and you're absolutely right about the flames, that's the kind of scene I had in my mind while I was drawing.

love the painting of this skull, what brushes or technique did you use to get the texture on it?

I've essentially used traditional soft round brush playing with opacity and size. And I added some textures with rock brushes.
