Description
"Patience is a virtue..."What option do we have other than to be patient? Humanity is so corrupted by its dependence on technology that when it fails, we fail with it and are helpless without it. Essentially, we are slaves in the world we have created without even realising it, and technology plays an ever more integrated part of our world. What if one day the line between control and reality is obscured and we no longer function as individual minds, but attached to that we have constructed.
This work is inspired by 'Dimmu Borgir - Puritania' (awesome song! lurv it!! go and check it out! fits perfectly) and the whole concept of 'the matrix', and will be painted in black ink on shiny bristleboard. Just a rough sketch of the idea...

man im starting to get rather psyched about this pic, i really wanna see it done. i'll get you the supplies hopefully by next weekend.
the concept is great, i understand what you mean, when theres a blackout and i dont have my comp...
i think using black ink will really help emphasise the whole destruction factor. its kinda depressing how what we create as humans can control us, and yet not know it.
man creates..
man destroys...
its natural. hmm

its only natural to destroy ourselves. this is what life is all about. we see it everyday, maybe not through physical destruction, but through emotional (relationships breaking?) and destruction of the mind. think about how many little kids are exposed to death and violence on tv everyday of their lives before they turn 18? like what the fuck do people think its going to do to them as they grow up? and not to mention the almost constant war being waged on in some other part of the world...
the truth is, the society we live in is extremely troubled. we may not notice it, but its changing slowly and its not looking very good in the future. maybe im just a pessimist, but so many things in this world dont make sense anymore.

pessimist or not, anyone who's smart enough to see it will notice that things are, how should i put this... FUCKED UP!
i have an article on a photography work, it takes pictures of the innocent children being exposed to violence and war. one picture startled me in particular, it was a young girl holding a gun like in Time Crisis in an arcade, although the game is designed for entertainment, this child gets a different perception believing blowing some guys head off is fun.
"the truth is, the society we live in is extremely troubled." youre damn right about that, but hey who am i to say anything, not like i can stop it. its not so much an individual who screws things up, it takes a group to make an impact, so what does that tell you about society's conformism?
