yes, we make most of our cosplays ourselves
and my jacket is from a 2nd hand store, since I wanted real leather LOL and I just altered it so it was more like Merlin's though it's still not perfect - the only thing I'm not 100% happy about my cosplay yet (and my shirt... since the hem is too wide XD)
and yes, I'm sure u could 
thought you'd need a wig, OR dye your hair (u can just use one of those things that stays in the hair for only a day or so XD)

but this cosplay didn't really have so many details - Morgana had more XD
but the Lady Vivian Cos I made... this had A LOT of details... pearls <.< and stuff
well - who knows ^^
most ppl did - noone REALLY thought I was a guy ^^ (those times are over, luckily) just my friends told me I looked more like a guy than ever <.< XD
everyone adressed me as a girl (even those who didn't know me XD) so... I guess, it was okay... and it was a convention... where 50% of all girls were cosplaying guys XD - I guess, you get used to it, seeing so many cross-players LOL

well, she made the belt from simple vine-decoration you can buy in decoration shops(made from plastic) and stuff XD and she sprayed them gold LOL
^^ and then sewed it together and onto the dress :3
