Description Oh my God....the best comedy show of all time!
Or at least it is to me, it is also my favourite show ever. And that is why I thought it was FINALLY time to pay big tribute to Monty Python's Flying Circus.

It was first aired on October 5th 1969 and ran until 1974, producing four seasons and a couple of specials.
And I managed to "serve" my tribute in time

My personal connection to it: When I saw it the first time, I was around 4 or 5 years old. No joke. My father always has been a fan of MPFC since it came to German and Austrian television and he recorded many episodes on video cassettes. I watched these cassettes - my father didn't care that much about it, my mother tolerated this - and naturally I didn't quite understand all of it, also because of language barriers (I was not familiar with English and I wasn't able to read the German subtitles yet) but I was still immediately hooked and it didn't stop me from watching more of it, quoting it and even drawing pictures of sketches I saw (my big sister did this, too, she also enjoyed the show ).
The show as well as the movies that came out later shaped my sense of humour and even my language skills: I think watching Monty Python this early helped me to develope my English skills later in school (English became one of my best classes).

Aside from that, I love the show and it is still funny and clever today.
To me it is a bag filled with a mix of excellent ingredients: a bunch of individuals with incredible talents, wonderful acting, catchy songs and other great music, british culture, crazy animations by Terry Gilliam, nostalgia, history, weird settings and stories, iconic gags and dialogues...it goes on and on.
And I am glad that afterwards, the Monty Python group added a couple of movies, live shows and music albums to their portfolio.
But I'm not gonna talk about them in details, since this artwork is solely about the 50th anniversary of the show.

Back then, as I said, I watched it on VHS, nowadays I watch it on DVD, mostly together with my father.

Now, that I could finally create a big fanart about Monty Python, hopefully I can add some smaller ones to it like portraits or single characters and sketches in fanart form.

Done with tablet, SAI, Adobe Photoshop and prepainted watercolours.

P.S.: If I had more time, I would have put in more things like the wonderful "Scott of the Antarctis" sketch, the clapping elderly ladies from this stock footage clip, portraits of the Pythons or some more Gilliam animation parts.
But as it is now, I think there are classics as well as more obscure show elements I love and I'm content with that they made it into the fanart

I cannot think of anyone just as legendary as these guys when it comes to British Comedy (other than Aardman animation or Rowan Atkinson)Β

So many things on top of other things! The Royal Society for Putting Things on top of Other Things would congratulate you! But, of course, this is no time for complacency. On my way here, I have seen other things, and I cannot stress this enough, not on top of another thing in any way!

50 years of absurdist comedy, we can always fine something to be thankful for even in these troubling times.

Bit of a dirty fork there, just next to the Strawberry Tart Without So Much Rat In It. Could you nip out to the kitchen and fetch a clean one?
