Description:
---------------
The Sunstone-class light mining ship is a frigate-sized military-grade mining vessel commissioned by the UFS Navy Material Logistics Command.
Loosely derived from the Whitestone-class mining ship, it incorporates substantial Union warship design influences. Despite its significantly enhanced armor and armament, it maintains a similar speed and maneuverability profile to its predecessor. Furthermore, it boasts a larger cargo bay and hosts more powerful reactors and inertial dampening systems.
The Sunstone-class demonstrates the capability to operate with minimal support, even in relatively hazardous regions. This is attributed to its corvette-level armament and heavy armor, an unusual feature for a utility ship of its size, which led to its swift replacement of Whitestone-class vessels in Navy service.
