A very simple, inexpensive but reliable and accurate semi-automatic service pistol with a double stack magazine, designed with concealed carry in mind. Exept for the magazine release buttons on the left and right side of the weapon, it has no external controls and features a palm safety. The slide will lock open on an empty magazine and close automatically when a new magazine is loaded into the gun. It was primarily marketed to frontier law enforcement forces and adventurers. CPS 16 pistols have a reputation for beeing extremely reliable even in the harshest conditions and almost impossible to break. The M model features a dedicated mounting for optical sights, a standard H&C low-profile accessory rail, a thinner trigger guard and slightly reworked grip frame.
Like on most modern weapons the trigger guard on H&C produced guns is large enough to accomodate the often quite large gloves of environmental suits, necessary to survive on many frontier worlds ... or in a vacuum. Many shooters are quick to point out that H&C overdid it on thier pistols though.
