IF 4 Phantom model 4C is in active service and has been primarly used in surface to ground despite its multi-role capibilites. Designed as the replacement for the ageing fleet of model 2 Phantoms. The fueling probe is behind teh cockpit allows long range missions and a reduced radar signiture. Radar is further reduced with modifed armor and paint found on older stealth platforms. Modified Phantoms have been used in air combat appications as well as air interceptor. Mountable pylons on each wing allows multiple weapon systems. Its electronics is derived from older generation model 2 and 3 Phantoms new updates and additional functionality. Modular design helps to keep the cost and maintenance down. Advanced control surfaces allows the pilot to land the aircraft despite heavy damage combined with systems that automatically fly the plane at a level altitude in the event that the pilot blacks out.
