You've all seen Haemon before--or at least you could in the rest of this gallery--but this is an illustration that more or less is meant to show his ascension to the Chapter Master position of the Lamenters. For the sons of the Blood Angels, the success of repelling the Hive Fleet Kraken was something of a bitter sweet victory. The Imperium thought they would not survive. In fact, that was why such ' penance ' was determined necessary, a marriage of holy blessing and pragmatism. It was perhaps the only bit of luck the Lamenters would ever have, and those 300 marines that remained would likely never consider themselves lucky as they buried their brothers.
