Description Used the standard rainbow gradient in GIMP, added a vertical black to white gradient for a bit more variety, then ran it through Audacity's Diode Processing plugin. I really didn't expect this kind of result. Looks pretty awesome though. Reminds me of the box art for the old Pitfall! game on the Atari, where the main character has a rainbow trail going behind him.

Base image made in GIMP.
Databending done in Audacity.

There are a lot of interesting effects, depending on what settings you use, what filetype, import settings, etc. It's all a lot of trial and error.

I can't seem to use anything other than BMPs.

Pretty sure I've gotten .png and .tiff files to databend before, if they're uncompressed. You also get different effects depending on the color depth and stuff. For example, a lot of my stuff is 16-bit R5 G6 B5 .bmp format, I just convert it to a .jpg for uploads because it's easier uploading a 100 KB file than a 2 MB one.
