I always thought of famine as a big fat guy. He eats all of the food and causes famine, but I like this version of famine too.

Even though it isn't meant to be, the monochromatic green scene and the horse seem peaceful. The man may be slightly un kindly but perhaps he is just very slim, but he and his horse are just riding through a quiet land.
