Tharot was and is being raised by his uncle in a small cottage in the woods. He has never known his parents, and has only been told that they originated from Antova and fled after being accused of practicing dark magic. While he does not know whether or not his parents actually did practice the forbidden art, he believes that they were innocent and one day hopes to travel to Antova to clear their names.
When his parents fled, they left Tharot in his fathers younger brothers care, promising to one day return and take him back, though Tharots uncle is almost certain that they were killed as punishment. Tharot has since helped his uncle with potions and medicines, some practical and some more experimental than anything else, and spends most of his days wandering the forest and caring for injured wildlife or bringing special medication to farmers who ask for it. He doesn't go to the Nook for anything other than his schooling/the library and rarely interacts with the Wynglings who live there, often giving them the cold shoulder.
Tharot often gets bullied for lacking a tail, but doesn't get bothered by it, and instead uses his knowledge of potions to terrify the other children, much to Alma's dismay.
Card tricks and false magic are this boys forte, and when he isn't striking fear into his bullies hearts or ignoring others all together, he is entertaining them with small tricks.
