I have permission to paint an original work from the photo by Damascus5 but not to sell prints so unfortunately I can’t offer this piece for sale as prints.

I have tried to paint a sense of loving protection of Mary for Her Divine Son Jesus at a time when His life was being sought after.

Oh Tahnja, I just love your Madonna pieces! They're all so warm and affectionate and motherly. There's such a beauty about them that's hard to describe. She looks like she's enveloped in papyrus reeds on the Nile riverbank.

Love your warmth and appreciation my dear friend. I love our faith and Our Lord and Holy Mother. I will get back to painting Them. For now I have to paint other things to keep the bills paid...as much as it pains me, that's how it is in the world. Jesus will turn things around soon enough so that I can return to my beloved religious work in Their honour. :hugs:

*winces* Well, it looks realistic enough, I guess, but it does kind of just look weird. I would have tried to shift it down a bit so you could see some fingers. But anyway, really amazing picture.
