This tutorial has 26 photographed steps to support detailed explanations in painting a fish, as well as 6 photos and explanations of the washes and detailing colors. Also includes Materials list for brushes, paint and paper. I include mixing techniques so that even with just primary colors, you can come up with all the colors needed for this painting.
I am confident that this tutorial can enable a beginner-intermediate level watercolorist to paint a fish similar to or even better than the one pictured. The techniques I teach can be applied to your own style.

I'm colorblind. Do you think this tutorial would still work if I just went with grey scale or a very limited number of colors (like two)?

So long as you can tell light from dark, it would help since I explain how to put texture using the lights and darks. I have a color list in it and a mixture guide. But I really can't say, sorry..
