Ok, so! I have problems with the Cosmic Fury suits, here: www.deviantart.com/taiko554/ar… Hell, we all have issues with the designs! So here is my short-n-simple redesign, attempting to blend Ryusoulger/Dino Fury with Kyuranger.

First, yes, we're doing rangers for each voyager and we're keeping the 12 rangers from Kyuranger. Second, I'm gonna go do some very basic rewrites for Dino Fury (tho I very much did not watch all of it) and Cosmic Fury (which I did binge when it came out). Lots of "yadayadas" incoming!

Dino Fury: The big thing I'd change from Dino Fury is the whole "Zayto and Aiyon" are 65 million years old, been in stasis yadayada. I...hate that this is what so many dino-based heroes get written as. So instead: Rafkon is a distant planet where the native fauna more closely resemble Earth's dinosaurs. The planet is at war between the human-like Radkonians and beastly Sporixs. Zayto and Aiyon have been tasked, along with their companion/navigator Solon, with pursuing Tarrick, a renegade general who has been experimenting with Sporix cells (and unbeknownst to fellow brass is doing so to keep his dying wife, Santaura, alive). In the pursuit their ships cross the void of a black hole, resulting in each coming through to Earth at different times. Tarrick arrived 20 years prior to the series events, his wife gave birth to a daughter who they agree to entrust to a local. Santaura is still sick, and yadayada, Tarrick spends the next 20 years experimenting with Sporix and "evil things", taking on the moniker Void Knight. Zayto and Solon arrives as the series starts, using tech to bury their spaceship underground and create an illusion/field around their base which Amelia and Ollie nickname Dino-Henge. Unaware of who Void Knight is, Zayto forms a team of Rangers with Amelia, Ollie, Izzy, and Javi to combat the Sporix threat on Earth, yadayada, Aiyon arrives months later and joins the fight. Series progresses much the same is it did in the show: Void Knight's identity is discovered, Amelia is revealed to be Tarrick and Santaura's Rafkonian daughter, Zayto still sacrifices himself to destroy the Nemesis Beast. The difference here at the end is important - Zayto doesn't come back to life in 10 minutes of showtime, he doesn't come back at all during Dino Fury's run. It takes ALLLLLL the emotion out of losing a lead character if you bring him back in the same fucking episode...and they bring this man back from the dead at least four fucking times. Hate it. Keep him dead, for now. The series ends six months later with the Rangers still dealing with his loss when the Morphin Masters appear to each, and with Fern tagging along to their base, the Morphin Masters alert the team to Zedd's escape and the threat of his imminent arrival to destroy them. ~CLIFFHANGER, oooOOOooo~

Cosmic Fury: Let's keep it to 10 episodes. Yes, it'll still be rushed. But we're trying to tie up more lose ends while still giving spotlights to new zords and rangers, and a few returning faces.

Ep1) We pick right up at the cliffhanger, Zedd attacks the Rangers' base. Billy has detected Zedd's presence too and arrives to confront him with a quickly jumbled together team of his own (all in-suit: Karone, Tori, Xander, Gemma, Antonio, Heckyl, Mick). Despite the backup, Zedd destroys the Dino Fury Ranger's connection to the Morphin Grid, traps the Morphin Masters in a containment tube, and all assembled Rangers retreat into the base, flying off before Zedd an destroy them. Zedd tasks his forces with tracking down the Rangers and begins amassing his forces to conquer Earth. Billy explains theories about the Grid, new powerful zords have existed across the cosmos and helped Rangers beat evil. Mick agrees to stay with the Dino Fury team to help them pursue leads, the other vets teleport back to Billy's new Command Center on Earth to fight Zedd. Fern stows away on the spaceship, wanting to help Izzy and her friends protect people (who cares, she needs to be there).

Ep2) The D̶i̶n̶o̶ ̶F̶u̶r̶y̶ Rangers go to Zordina and discover the people oppressed by Bajillia's mining corporation. They try to help, yadayada, Aiyon comment that Zayto always wanted to protect people and bring balance from chaos. A latent power in the planet responds to their courage and grants them new powers and zords, transforming Amelia, Ollie, Aiyon, Izzy, Javi, and Fern into the Cosmic Fury Rangers. Other beams of power shoot off into the cosmos (for reasons aka, to find worthy new Rangers). There can be some speculation from Mick and Solon that the new powers have clashed with their original Dino Fury powers, warping those suits into something new and voila! explanation for the new designs. Zord battle with the original "KyurenOh" of RBKGY appearing (this is why Fern gets to be Yellow so she can be a "core ranger" and more involved). The original Rafkonian spaceship goes caput but luckily the new Cosmic Lion Zord is large enough for the team to use as a new spaceship.

Ep3) The Cosmic Fury Rangers pursue Bajilia across planets, learning more and more about her galaxy-wide evil company, yadayada. On Earth, Zedd and co have developed a Morphin-Grid blocking device, nullifying any previous Ranger's powers on Earth. On a new planet, Solon and Mick are captured by Bajillia's corporation and bond over mentoring their respective teams, about who they've lost, yadayada, vow to lose no more friends. And wouldn't you know it, two of those power beams hit Solon and Mick, making them into the Orange and Silver Cosmic Fury Rangers. Solon can make some joke about where all her dinosaur features have gone "simple explanation", "it's happened before" (just some wink at the fans). Mick makes a comment about Silver being nice but he always loved Orange too (again, wink at the fans; plus his sash in Ninja Steel was silver, hence the choice here).

Ep4) Bajillia disocvers the Cosmic Fury Rangers' home planet and journeys to Earth to form a merger (business term, cmon) with Zedd. On Earth, past Rangers have begun a resistance and rescue missions, with Billy and the earlier vets developing a new powerhouse weapon, if only they could reestablish a link to the Morphin Grid (this can all be messages played to the Cosmic Fury team to keep them in the loop). In outer space, the Cosmic Fury Rangers are visited by an unknown specter (a ghost, sure) who announces it might be able to tap into the Cosmic Fury powers to revive Zayto, "I've done something like this before" (wink wink, nudge nudge, whoever could this be?!).

Ep5) This is more/less a time-crunch episode where Brajillia's corporation is assaulting the Cosmic Fury Rangers. The Rangers can't form a Megazord because yadayada the specter is still trying to bring Zayto back. Everyone else is in their zords fighting in the skies, full on dogfight-style while Amelia gets to be a badass and defend the Lion Zord/base from intruders to buy time. Wouldn't ya know it, last minute Zayto comes back, "Red looks good on you", tearful reunion, catharsis. These nine rangers beat back Bajillia's forces and she angrily spills that she'll destroy Earth with Zedd, giving the Rangers the final push to return to Earth. The specter takes up residence in a Cosmic Orb, bemoaning "It's much like a tube I used to reside in for millennia" (omg it's Zordon! much shock, such surprise)

Ep6) With Zayto back, the Cosmic Fury Rangers are waylaid en route to Earth by Adam and Aisha as part of SPA (pick this back up from the Once And Always special) who tell them refugees from across the cosmos have been flocking to Earth as Brajillia exploits their planets and Zedd's conquering of Earth leaves these refugees in more danger while simulatenously creating a power vacuum in some systems. Upon hearing Zordon's voice after ~30 years, Adam and Aisha are overwhelmed and happily give Zayto a new starship, the Phoenix Zord. The two spaceship/zords travel to Earth and Zayto's new Megazord is able to destroy Zedd's barrier but discover the joined forces of Zord and Bajillia.

Ep7) Meeting the the Ranger Resistance, the team learn that the Morphin Grid is still down for past rangers but that Tarrick and Santaura have been granted new powers. They also learn Jane and JBorg have been crucial in recon and guerilla journalism, getting people and aliens to safety, yadayada. Zordon can remark that worthy have always been chosen, attitude or past actions are irrelevant. Tarrick, Santaura, and Jane morph into Cosmic Fury Rangers. They form "RyuteiOh" of VCO and beat a monster. Just like that, all 12 Cosmic Fury Rangers are assembled. Billy is more hopeful now that his old mentor has returned and asks for help in finalizing this new weapon. Things are looking up!

Ep8) This episode would be super Megazord heavy. The 12 Cosmic Fury Rangers are becoming Earth's new hope, we can have footage of the team being broadcast across the globe in their new Megazords destroying Zedd's monsters and Bajillia's machines. Footage of the Rangers liberating prisons, preventing invasions on safe-zones, yadayada "because that's what heroes do" (basically I just need Earth's heroes to actually do some heroics on Earth, and I don't think that really happens in the actual Cosmic Fury show). Zedd fulfills his plans to become an evil Morphin Master, destroys Bajillia and confronts the Cosmic Fury Rangers.

Ep9) Full on battle between Lord Zedd and the 12 Cosmic Fury Rangers. Just, give it everything you've got PR, everything that made the show special, hell it's an action show. Give me colorful fight choreography, slow-mo, explosions! Faking that he's on the ropes, Master Zedd goes giant and the Cosmic Fury Rangers summon their megazords. While this is happening, Billy and the other vets and Zordon complete their secret powerhouse weapon. Zordon merges into its mainframe and is able to reestablish past Rangers' connection to the Morphin Grid. Billy and the other vets pilot the All-Star Megazord into battle (the Orion Battler from Kyuranger). The All-Star Megazord assumes its giant bazooka mode with the Cosmic Fury Megazords surrounding it and BLAM-O, Master Zedd is defeated. Zedd resumes his normal scale and design, the Morphin Master energies scatter into the cosmos.

Ep10) Finale. Now that we've had the big ol Ranger and Megazord battles for an entire episode, I think we can have Zayto confronting Zedd peacefully, suggesting he can use some of his revived power to entrap/imprison Zedd rather than destroy him in the hope Zedd might yet see the error of his ways. Very importantly(!!!), he defers the decision to Amelia as she's the Red Ranger who has led this team to victory. Amelia decides with her whole team, to include her family, that Zayto could be right, that evil and good exist in a constant struggle, and that's why the Power Rangers exist. Zedd is imprisoned in much the same way, in a nightmare of his own making. Zordon, now a sentient and speaking spaceship offers to take the veteran Rangers across the stars, to better establish SPA as a peacekeeping police force for refugee aliens ushering them to the safe haven of Earth; of course all agree, along with Mick who has always wondered what being a police officer might be like (again, wink wink). The Morphin Masters reappear to the Cosmic Fury team. They say that Zayto is something new, a phoenix risen again to burn bright yadayada, and Zayto becomes a white-colored Morphin Master. Tearful goodbyes. Amelia, Ollie, Aiyon, Izzy, Javi, and Fern all contribute to Javi's song at the end, it's not just his, it's "theirs". Amelia's sister is born, she's hopeful that Power Rangers can always be there to protect her sister, but also jokes about what color Ranger her sister could be when she grows up. The end.

Main plot fixes! Streamlined. The first half is the Cosmic Fury Rangers traveling in space, discovering new powers and seeing a cosmic threat destroying lives and planets across the cosmos; the second half is the return to Earth and saving the cosmos from evil forces. (1) There's no "Ghost Ranger" for Zayto to use in one battle and get nerfed. We don't revive and kill Zayto multiple times. Get fucked, writers. We do it once, and then he becomes more. (2) We spotlight Amelia being a leader more, make it even more special that Zayto, her old leader and super-powerful being, is deferring to her leadership. (3) We don't need evil Ollie. We just don't. Cosmic Fury is already juggling new villains, new zords, returning Ranger cameos. And Ollie only had his Cosmic Fury suit for like, two fight scenes? Cmon. (4) We don't need the damaged arm plot, it's of so little importance in the actual show that they didn't need it either. (5) No rock show on an alien quarry-planet to get the Dragon Zord. When Tarrick morphs, he has access to it, no need to "discover new zords" on various planets. (6) No poorly-rendered legacy CGI Megazords. The "All-Star Megazord" fulfills the bonus of seeing returning Rangers fight in a megazord one last time. (7) We don't end Billy at the same damn point he ended the special at. Zordon's back, Billy's a happy boy. Done.

Suit fixes! We don't need to over-complicate them, we don't need heavily armored 'space suits' with Power Rangers flair. We just need a merging of a few designs, but keep it simple. (1) Some star patterns, goddamnit. Literally anything to evoke "cosmic" because what we got doesn't look like anything. (2) We can reuse the helmets, but give them a bit of a different redo with recoloring the mouthplates, star pattern visors, and a few eye color changes to better match their Cosmic Fury Zords. (3) Take the Ryusoulger/Dino Fury central chest design and curve it at an angle, make it look like it's torn and being warped into space. It helps merge the two. And giving the design a more curved look helps, in my eye, lend to the "fury" part of the name. It's not so damn straight edged and boring like what we got. (4) Zayto is a White Ranger. If rumors are to be believed, that didn't happen in-show because it might upset racists. So let me happily say, get fucked racists. Zayto is a White Ranger but still has some residual red coloring to better match with his new zord, still gets a cape, but now his cape has a flame pattern dancing up into a space pattern; it's not just a boring piece of white sheet. Does it look a bit corny (maybe a lil Guy Fieri)? Maybe. But I think it matches his theming in this rewrite much better. (5) Kyuranger changers because "keeping the dino theme just cuz" is bad, Billy/writers. (6) We also borrow the Kyuranger coloring scheme with heavier silver and white gloves, the Kyuranger collars, and shoulder pads. Zayto's and Tarricks are simply just Tenbin Gold's. (7) Zayto and Tarrick don't have wrist morphers as they'd keep their counterpart's weapon-changers: this helps keep Zayto tied to a knight theme, and gives Tarrick a melee weapon. (8) The helmets for Yellow, Orange, Silver, Cyan, and Pink are lifted from my "Additional Ryusoulger" piece. (9) We can keep the Cosmic Fury belt, it's fine and unassuming. The waist angles from the Cosmic Fury suits are kept but curved a bit more, and then also extended to elbows and knees, much like Kyuranger's designs-but again, curved. (10) Izzy gets the brighter green color I had originally proposed Ryusoulger give that suit when it first debuted to better distinguish it from Kyoryuger. So I'm taking what's owed and making that change. It also helps when there's a Cyan Ranger to distance the Green Ranger's hue.

Billy and the other vets pilot the All-Star Megazord into battle (the Orion Battler from Kyuranger). The All-Star Megazord assumes its giant bazooka mode with the Cosmic Fury Megazords surrounding it and BLAM-O, Master Zedd is defeated. Zedd resumes his normal scale and design, the Morphin Master energies scatter into the cosmos.

Ep10) Finale. Now that we've had the big ol Ranger and Megazord battles for an entire episode, I think we can have Zayto confronting Zedd peacefully, suggesting he can use some of his revived power to entrap/imprison Zedd rather than destroy him in the hope Zedd might yet see the error of his ways. Very importantly(!!!), he defers the decision to Amelia as she's the Red Ranger who has led this team to victory. Amelia decides with her whole team, to include her family, that Zayto could be right, that evil and good exist in a constant struggle, and that's why the Power Rangers exist. Zedd is imprisoned in much the same way, in a nightmare of his own making. Zordon, now a sentient and speaking spaceship offers to take the veteran Rangers across the stars, to better establish SPA as a peacekeeping police force for refugee aliens ushering them to the safe haven of Earth; of course all agree, along with Mick who has always wondered what being a police officer might be like (again, wink wink). The Morphin Masters reappear to the Cosmic Fury team. They say that Zayto is something new, a phoenix risen again to burn bright yadayada, and Zayto becomes a white-colored Morphin Master. Tearful goodbyes. Amelia, Ollie, Aiyon, Izzy, Javi, and Fern all contribute to Javi's song at the end, it's not just his, it's "theirs". Amelia's sister is born, she's hopeful that Power Rangers can always be there to protect her sister, but also jokes about what color Ranger her sister could be when she grows up. The end.

Main plot fixes! Streamlined. The first half is the Cosmic Fury Rangers traveling in space, discovering new powers and seeing a cosmic threat destroying lives and planets across the cosmos; the second half is the return to Earth and saving the cosmos from evil forces. (1) There's no "Ghost Ranger" for Zayto to use in one battle and get nerfed. We don't revive and kill Zayto multiple times. Get fucked, writers. We do it once, and then he becomes more. (2) We spotlight Amelia being a leader more, make it even more special that Zayto, her old leader and super-powerful being, is deferring to her leadership. (3) We don't need evil Ollie. We just don't. Cosmic Fury is already juggling new villains, new zords, returning Ranger cameos. And Ollie only had his Cosmic Fury suit for like, two fight scenes? Cmon. (4) We don't need the damaged arm plot, it's of so little importance in the actual show that they didn't need it either. (5) No rock show on an alien quarry-planet to get the Dragon Zord. When Tarrick morphs, he has access to it, no need to "discover new zords" on various planets. (6) No poorly-rendered legacy CGI Megazords. The "All-Star Megazord" fulfills the bonus of seeing returning Rangers fight in a megazord one last time. (7) We don't end Billy at the same damn point he ended the special at. Zordon's back, Billy's a happy boy. Done.

Suit fixes! We don't need to over-complicate them, we don't need heavily armored 'space suits' with Power Rangers flair. We just need a merging of a few designs, but keep it simple. (1) Some star patterns, goddamnit. Literally anything to evoke "cosmic" because what we got doesn't look like anything. (2) We can reuse the helmets, but give them a bit of a different redo with recoloring the mouthplates, star pattern visors, and a few eye color changes to better match their Cosmic Fury Zords. (3) Take the Ryusoulger/Dino Fury central chest design and curve it at an angle, make it look like it's torn and being warped into space. It helps merge the two. And giving the design a more curved look helps, in my eye, lend to the "fury" part of the name. It's not so damn straight edged and boring like what we got. (4) Zayto is a White Ranger. If rumors are to be believed, that didn't happen in-show because it might upset racists. So let me happily say, get fucked racists. Zayto is a White Ranger but still has some residual red coloring to better match with his new zord, still gets a cape, but now his cape has a flame pattern dancing up into a space pattern; it's not just a boring piece of white sheet. Does it look a bit corny (maybe a lil Guy Fieri)? Maybe. But I think it matches his theming in this rewrite much better. (5) Kyuranger changers because "keeping the dino theme just cuz" is bad, Billy/writers. (6) We also borrow the Kyuranger coloring scheme with heavier silver and white gloves, the Kyuranger collars, and shoulder pads. Zayto's and Tarricks are simply just Tenbin Gold's. (7) Zayto and Tarrick don't have wrist morphers as they'd keep their counterpart's weapon-changers: this helps keep Zayto tied to a knight theme, and gives Tarrick a melee weapon. (8) The helmets for Yellow, Orange, Silver, Cyan, and Pink are lifted from my "Additional Ryusoulger" piece. (9) We can keep the Cosmic Fury belt, it's fine and unassuming. The waist angles from the Cosmic Fury suits are kept but curved a bit more, and then also extended to elbows and knees, much like Kyuranger's designs-but again, curved. (10) Izzy gets the brighter green color I had originally proposed Ryusoulger give that suit when it first debuted to better distinguish it from Kyoryuger. So I'm taking what's owed and making that change. It also helps when there's a Cyan Ranger to distance the Green Ranger's hue.
