Tails put the phone down.

“busy again…”

seemed that Sonic had been doing other things for weeks, they had barely seen each other for a while… he sighed, sitting back on the couch, running a hand through his hair. The fairground was in town and it was the last day of the fair, he had to go with someone!

It was gonna be a long day…

Tails had tried everyone, from Knuckles to Big to even Rouge, and it still seemed everyone had plans… There had to be someone... he got up, walking to the window, deep in thought. There had to be somebody he hadnt tried…

Amy… No… Cream… No… Shadow… Definatley not… Silver… No… Blaze?

He hadnt tried her number yet!

Tails picked up the phone and dialed Blazes number. The tone seemed to ring for ages before her heard the voice on the other end…

“hello? Who is it?”

“Its Tails” he responded, nervous as to if Blaze would be free…

“Oh, hey Tails” she said “Whats up?”

“I was wondering if you had any plans for the day… I mean I know your usually busy, being a princess and all but-“

“I dont have anything planned for today, was there something you wanted to do Tails?” she responded.

“ I ummm, its the last day of the fair, they leave town tomorrow… And nobody else is free, I dont want to go alone… I was wondering if youd like to come with me?”

“alright! Should we meet by the enterance?” Blazes voice on the other side gave the fox the answer he was looking for.

“okay, I’m on my way now.”

“See you there then!” Tails put down the phone, getting ready to go and hurrying outside, heading to the fairground.

He stopped, reaching the entrence, where Blaze was already waiting.

“shall we go?”

He nodded “yeah”

They headed into the fairground, looking around. Tails bought some cotton candy for the both of them and they went on the carosel. Tails smiled, glad that he found someone who wasnt busy that day…

They continued, going on different rides until eventually it got late and they had time for just one last ride… The ferris wheel.

“U-Ummm” Blaze stopped, nervously staring at the wheel.

“Is something wrong?”

“Its a little high, dont you think?”

Tails looked. “Its not that high… Anyway, it’s the only thing we havent been on yet, and its getting late”

“Alright…” Blaze headed on the ride with Tails, she still seemed nervous.

As the ferris wheel turned and they rose higher, Tails looked out the window at the sunset, glad that he managed to find somebody to hang out with for the day. He could feel Blaze clinging to his arm, trembling slightly.

“Are you sure your alright?”

“I’m fine.” She said, staring at the floor.

“If your afraid of heights you should have said.”

“Its alright… I mean, the rides almost over now” She released her grip on his arm, sitting up straight, her eyes still fixed on the floor.

Tails smiled, how she was acting, was sort of cute. Though he felt bad for scaring her like that.

When the ride stopped they got off the ferris wheel and headed back to the enterance, passing others on their way to catch the last rides.

“Tails?” Blaze said

“Hmm?”

“Today was great, we should do this sort of thing again sometime” she smiled

Tails smiled back. “We sure will”

And as they headed their separate ways, Tails looked back, knowing that this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
