OH lol shame on me. I was at the monastery doing a model photo shoot. Hundreds of magnolias but your right there are several chestnut trees there too and this must be shot of one of them. thanks my friend I really appreciate the info and correction to my stupidity.

looks a little bit like chesnuts skin,

I hadn't seen these type of bulbs or growths on magnolias before so took a shot of them.

It was a crazy storm and still is...but not a hurricane.
Just LOTS of wind and rain. I really hope that they don't
get it up in Louisiana, it seems to be going that way.
