Had a little grey squirrel go up a tree yesterday at noon and had not moved as of 5 pm

I went out to the tree in the blizzard and tried to talk him down, thinking maybe he
was froze to death 15 feet up...That did not work...I threw peanuts at him, laid some
treaters on the bench....nothing.....Was so sad, how am I going to get this little guy
out of the tree if indeed he was frozen solid...Went out with a flashlight at 6 and shined
it on him......He moved....he moved again....I talked to him, told him he had to go home
now and I went back into the house, watching from the window....Down he came, 
grabbed a peanut and ran off.....Then I read on WIKI that they can go into a hibernation
for a whole day where their hearts beat at only about 2 beats and they will be quite happy
in that state....But I could not get any real relief until I saw him come down out of that tree...

Yes I get great satisfaction from watching all the animals, especially the squirrels too Russ

I didn't know they could do that in such cold weather. I'm glad he survived. My squirrels and birds went after the white berries with a passion yesterday. I think they could sense the big change in the temperature that was about to happen. In the very low 20s here this morning.
