Wait Wait!!!! I just thought of something! I think Fracktail is part REAL dragon! Remember back back to the end of the fight. When he started to explode, there was a real dragon skeleton you know, REAL bone! Maybe he's like when Merlon first found Tippi, she was severely injured and near death. Maybe Fracktail was near death and he got transformed into being half robot, half dragon.
