So I decied I wanted to start making my own icon set, but rather than it being just another copy and paste icon set for android, I wanted to create the graphics from scratch.There are so few decent icon sets for android phones compared to the vast amounts on the Iphone, I just hope I can add to the growing android population
.These icons are VERY much a work in progress, as it's my first proper icon set and as I learn more in photoshop, it's getting easier. So that's something. Things like the colors, highlights and brightness are something I'm still constantly changing as these things always look different on the phone.

Good start love the mat feel and muted colors, just 1 suggestion they seem a bit flat try to refine the edge a bit to give them a depth.

Also, I forgot to add, I love the details, but don't get caught up trying to stuff too much detail into them so that they become a mess. Remember they are icons for Android (primarily) and will be quite small, sometimes the detail becomes lost and muddied at that size. I think you're walking the line well so far though!

Hmm, not sure about the ETA yet. I was hoping to release them last month, but I've just been so busy/distracted they're a bit delayed. Not too many base icons to finish now, though. I was aiming to release about 40-50 icons initially. And I'm not far off that.
Also thanks for the critique, I guess it depends on your screen size for android. If you're on HDPI then you can fit alot of detail on them. But I do prefer the simiplistic look rather than going overboard with detail(mainly due to the time it can take if you do go overboard on detail) but I've tested all the icons I've made so far and I shrink them down to 70% of their release size for my phone and they still keep their detail, so that's good enough for me

Next couple of weeks. Trying to design some of the icons still and get them right. Think I'll do some more work to em this weekend. Shouldn't be too long now, though.

Yeah, I'm working on alternatives too. Mainly just different colors and slight tweaks. Like extra banding or boarders.

The first will be for Winamp, second - for Total Commander, the last one - for Opera (I'm using facebook ;}). I hope there will be more icons from this set, something for chat communicator, and Photoshop ;}
