No idea, I barely have knowledges in meerkats... Maybe it was a 'she', and she was pregnant actually, maybe it's the sitting position, or maybe she just profited too much of the zoo food

Well they said they can't get fat since they have higher metabolism so it might be a mother expecting or just sitting funny.

We have meerkats at our local zoo in Michigan.
