WhyyyyyyI am so annoyed by the quality of "art" found in the front page and particularly in the "What`s hot " section. Seriously about half of them are pictures of naked people. HALF OF THEM for gods sake. No, I`m not one of those people who run in streets yelling about how nudity is bad and can`t be portrayed as art. Some glamour portraits/stock photos till example can be taken with good taste. I just think that posting a picture of someones genitals is NOT art. Such pictures should be at least marked with "Mature content " before posting or somewhat hidden so that people who don`t want to look at them couldn`t see them. DeviantART is not a porn site !
The most disturbing part of this is that those pictures are in the front page because they are popular. People actually click on them. They get more attention than "real art ". Some artist has worked their ass off to post a work here and it gets less views than some half-baked nudity shot. GAHHH WHY

So true... There are too many nude art here that get more views than an art that the artist puts all their best on it...You're right this is not a porn site and I want to see more genuine art. I hope.

The fact that people are too lazy to put mature content filter on ,when the picture clearly contains serious sexual content, is really annoying.

Yeah...the funny fact is that in some pictures there are not visible sexual content(or is drew bad and you can't understand that there is) but there is the filter x'D

I really would like people to filter stuff like that, at least... I can't understand why some things AREN'T filtered. It's extremely inconsiderate.
I also find it very hard to believe that a deliberate view straight up someone's thong underwear (anime or real, I don't care. ew.) is in any way definable as NOT "mature content" when the "mature content"-ness of it is the entire purpose of the picture. How is posting that unfiltered allowed? I thought there were rules about that..?

Yeah, I can't understand it either. ;-; Those kind of pictures are the reason why deviantart has a mature content option in the first place, so it makes no sense. DA should do something for the deviations that need mature content and don't have it , because if there is no consequences what's the point?

Yep. I tried reporting a really awful one once, but someone had already tried that and the issue was resolved and remained unfiltered. >_<
Having a rule and not enforcing it is kinda worse than not having it.

I absolutely 100% agree with you! I was thinking about writing a journal about this topic as well because frankly it kind of bothers me. I mean, I have no issue with artistic expression but I just don't think that seeing half naked or naked women is very appealing, especially since they're real people and not drawings...
And you're right, they get so much attention just for the sake of provocativeness. I really wish many of them would have a mature content because it's not very fun for me to be looking for art that I actually enjoy without seeing a bum or huge breasts :/
I have nothing wrong with tasteful nudity but what's one the frontpage of dA is sometimes to much...

Yeah, I totally agree. :I Some of the pictures can be taken with good taste but most of the time they are just too much. I think that there are way better places for those kind of pics than deviantart, they just don`t belong here.

Olen huomannut ihan saman asian ja pistänyt merkille, tosi ärsyttävää koska etsin monen muun lailla täältä arttia enkä pornoa. :'|
Tuntuu jotenkin että päivityksen jälkeen on tullut etusivulle vaan enemmän ja enemmän pornahtavaa arttia, kun olisi paljon parempaakin tarjolla. :C Sääd juttu.

I scrolled and scrolled the "what's hot" Section, and only found three nudes.
Though I do agree with you somewhat, they do not really belong here on this site. I am fine with some of the more artistic ones, if that makes sense? And not just like.. a picture of one's genitalia, ugh. ._. It is a shame some better art gets lost in here, when pictures like that surface.

Tämä on niin tosiasia. ; _ ; Tämän takia pidän "alotusruudun" undiscovered-lehdellä, kun siellä on paljon vähemmän näitä pornahtavia kuvia. Kun käy läpi nää mitkä tulee (ainakin mulla) just nyt esiin, ni niitten joukossa on vain yksi alastonkuva, ja sekin on semmonen taiteellinen ja oikeesti hienokin valokuva eikä semmonen "nappasen kuvan genitaalialueestani et saan huomioo jee".
