friday. 3pm.

Your shoulders sank, but your teacher ignored you and the other anxious students with their permanent unamused glare and walked to each row of desks to pass back informational forms. Testing forms.

Your school had an unusual tradition of informing its pupils of every event that occurred, 'relating' to the school. Whether it be a new paint color for the boy's bathroom to a new teacher's haircut, the news was always distributed to the students in an informal letter. But this time, you knew final exams were the one news you didn't wish to hear. Not like the other news were a real treat.

saturday. 11:30am.

Bokuto's back was slumped over the spinning desk chair that was in your room as he kicked his feet on the floor, spinning himself like a dreidel. The room was quiet. It wasn't the kind of situation where if a pin dropped you could hear it, no, it was quiet but not silent.

The blades of the ceiling fan sliced the air, the chair made a rolling sound with s few squeaks here and there, and your mechanical .7 lead pencil screeching against the paper every now and again.

Three exams. You had to study for three entire exams. English, literature, and math. Your least favorite subjects. Just thinking about how hard you needed to study in order to ace them set your head on fire.

Your fingers rubbed against your temples, hoping to relieve the stress against your skull. But as you did so, a series of short taps on your shoulder pulled you out of your focused, stressing trance.

His owl-like, golden orbs stared at you like a sense of a saddened child. "(Y/n)," He began. "When will you be done studying?"

A sigh emitted from the back of your lungs as your gaze returned back to its prior state of your studying, "When exams are over. Why?"

Golden orbs retreated to the outskirts of the window curtains, "Your room is just...boring. I miss our alone time during our weekends." You could hear the mild whine in his voice.

You shook your head in amusement, "I know my room isn't that exciting, Kou, but it's necessary to study. I have to study. I absolutely cannot fail these exams. My future depends on it!"

A groan emitted from his throat as the corners of your mouth twitched up in irritation..did he not get it? You could relate to his need for alone time after a long week of hard schoolwork, and although that idea seemed amazing, your potential scores couldn't afford it. However, he should at least not groan in front of you when you are clearly trying your best to provide for your education.

You rubbed the skin atop of your eyebrow in thought. What was your next move? How could you make both sides happy? Well, exams were for next week...and you had the whole weekend and rest of the Saturday to do as you pleased. A ghost of a smirk played on your complexion as you sat up from your preceding slouched position on your seat.

"I have a proposal for you, Kou."

It was as if all the dulled colors that were previously on his features lit up with that sentence, as if you turned the switch on for Christmas lights, where the lights would brighten up a monochromatic evening.

"What is this proposal?" He said as he leaned in, as if he were attempting to physically engage in the conversation.

"How about this: I will study until 5:30, after that we hit the road and we will have ole rest of the night dedicated to whatever we want to out of the house."

A smirk gradually rose on his features. You could take that as a yes.

saturday. 5:47pm.

"Kou!" You shouted across your apartment. "We're leaving, hurry up! Where are you?"

"Coming!" A reply came back to you as his clambering feet barreled towards you.

You two were going to the petting zoo (decided by Bokuto). But the most ironic thing is, he made you guys fifteen minutes behind schedule. He just had to watch the latest episode of Boku no Hero Academia. Unfortunately on your end, you couldn't complain since it was his evening, so you had to suck it up.

As soon as you walked outside, the sun beamed on your face and you could feel your eyes shrink. You blocked out the sun's rays with your hand as you walked to the passenger seat of Bokuto's car. Shortly afterwards, Bokuto came into the drivers seat and started up the engine. Of course, since it was an older car, it took a bit longer to start up. That was fine, though, since it didn't take as long as it normally did.

When you finally were able to pull out of the driveway, Bokuto turned on the radio and cranked up the volume all the way. It was so loud that the car started shaking to the beat. And as much as you hated the car rides that went like this, you couldn't help but feel pleased witnessing the brightest smile on your boyfriend's face.

saturday. 8:35pm.

Traffic was worse than expected, but Bokuto and you improvised. The two of you would play various car games, like I Spy and the license plate game. It was quite entertaining as well when Bokuto would get angry at incompetent drivers that would cut him off on the freeway.

But when you finally arrived at the petting zoo, it was just the right time. Not too early for a crowded area, and not too late for it to close.

Bokuto dragged you all around the petting zoo, from the boisterous horses to the lazy boars, there were a lot of animals to view and to well...pet.

But the one that you kept from Bokuto until the very end were the snowy owls they had in one building. But towards the end when you finally got there, his face lit up like fireworks.

"(Y/n)..look how beautiful they are."

You nodded as you saw them fly. (E/c) orbs followed a one owl in particular as it landed your boyfriend's shoulder. It was almost unsettling how much they resembled each other.

Bokuto asked a series of questions that went along the lines of, "Can we keep it?" "I think it's a girl!" "It looks so calm, can we keep it?"

You simply shook your head, "Please don't try naming it."

saturday. 11:14pm.

You've been home for a few hours after the petting zoo and stopping by a drive-through to get something to eat. That amount of time afterwards, in which, was perfect to spend watching movies on Netflix.

In the beginning, you two cuddling up close in a blanket, since the apartment was cooled downed at that hour. An days your eyes began to close, your last memories before going to sleep completely were Bokuto's fingers tracing the outline of your knee with one hand and wrapping the other around your shoulders, bringing you close to his warm chest. Maybe taking an after hours break with your boyfriend wasn't that bad after all.
