college au: where you and oikawa share the same apartment room.
Leaking from the shuttered window, light poured through the empty spaces of the panels. Specks of dust danced in the rays of light; twisting, spinning, twirling. Outside the humming roar of car engines whirled through the streets, occasionally a sound of tires screeching could be heard through the light walls. The sun had short since risen, the streets vacant of human activity, with the exception of the few early birds out and about.

Light snores escaped your form, your chest visibly rising up and down sporadically. Oikawa's eyes softened as he lightly pinched a lock of your (h/c) locks between his fingers, twisting and playing with it. And as he continued the action, he became mesmerized while playing with it. His preceding attention, which was mainly focused on watching you, had now been reverted to twisting the strands among his fingertips. The action was so enthralling, that the boy didn't realize his lover had been stirred awake.

As your eyes fluttered open, Oikawa tentatively stopped the action, leaving his fingers entangled in your hair. Blurred vision was what made his face hard to make out at first, but soon it cleared up as you fists rubbed it out of your eyes, making his face much clearer.

"Good morning." His soft voice sounded, his warm, calloused hand reaching up to cup your cheek gently.

Your eyes alleviated, giving him a placid gaze. "Good morning."

As his hand let go of your cheek, you could feel his arms enveloping themselves around your form. Moments of his warm embrace passed before his head craned back, his eyes becoming lost in yours. Being paralyzed in the bliss of the moment, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders, gripping onto them gently. Without a second thought, his head swooped down and captured his dried lips into yours. Smiling into the kiss, you happily obliged into returning the action. The chaste kiss was short and sweet, but with the tender meaning behind it, it was savored between the both of you.

As you pulled away, resting your head on his shoulder, you closed your eyes and tightened your grip on his form. Feeling his cheek nuzzle itself against your hair, his arms, situated around your waist, tightening gingerly. A few moments passed, the two of you frozen in that position. Soon, Oikawa breathed out a long sigh before sinking into the embrace further, languidly. You didn't take too much notice of it until he sighed once again, this time he dragged it out until he lost his breath. Taking note of the longer sigh, you couldn't hep but wonder ht he was trying to get at.

"What's wrong?" Piercing through the silence, your voice spoke out barely above a whisper.

Letting out another sigh, this time much shortened than the last pair, he answered, "We just haven't had a moment like this in a while."

Hearing the slight desolation in his voice, it didn't take you long to reply, "Well, we both have been really busy, you know. We both have classes, and you also have volleyball at the university on top of your studies."

An indolent, yet dejected breath escaped from his lips. As he didn't reply, it signaled that he already knew of the reason why the two of you could no longer share these moments regularly, but it was as if he secretly desired that it wasn't true.

Not wanting to let him give into the desolation, you added, "But look at it this way, Tooru. The minute we get out of university, we have all the time in the world."

Seeming to be satisfied with your answer, a shit-eating grin gradually widened upon his features. "And then we have the rest of our lives together. We can get married, have kids. But I think the most exciting part will be the process of making said kids."

You rolled your eyes as he wiggled his eyebrows playfully. After a few moment of silly lines, laughs, and retorts, Oikawa's gaze hulled as he swooped his lips down to meet yours, letting the two of you share a loving kiss. This time, however, he let it linger a little bit, not wanting to let you go.
