Oikawa couldn't sleep that night. Hell, he couldn't even sleep at all for the past weeks. There was a person that clouded his thoughts every second of the day, and throughout all the sleepless nights, not even volleyball could bring him out of it. He wouldn't call it a distraction, it's more of a way of life, now. No matter if his eyes were closed or opened, all he could think about were those (e/c) orbs or whenever he even looked at her how her cheeks would bloom to fifty shades of pink. Some would call this a crush, but Oikawa called it infatuation.

He couldn't get her out of his head and it was driving him mad. But he wasn't angry because of this interest of his. No, he actually liked this feeling. Whenever she talked to him, his heart would flutter, he hadn't felt that with anyone else, to be honest. The only thing that did drive him mad was that he could never tell her how he truly felt.

For fuck's sake, he was Oikawa Tooru, what made this such an impossible task?

SECOND POV.

You opened your locker sluggishly as you put your bag away and the supplies necessary for your next class. ( idk what stuff you guys need in your class, bc tbh how creepy would it be if i knew all the stuff that went on in your lives?? ) You were about to slam close your locker, you noticed a swarm of girls in the corner of the hallways seeming to circle a certain point like starving vultures.

Oikawa. You thought with a deadpanned look on your face. Leave it to Oikawa to always have time for his fangirls and volleyball but not for his friends, or old friends now.

FLASHBACK.

There was a time when you called Oikawa by his first name, Tooru, but eventually you two ended up drifted apart.Truth was, Oikawa, Hajime and you had been friends throughout junior high. You were new to Kitagawa Daiichi from (hometown) and immediately, of course, Oikawa wanted to be friends with you. He always babbled on and on about volleyball and random things that occurred throughout his day. Hajime told you that Oikawa had been drawn to you ever since he saw you go up to the class and introduce yourself when you first moved to the school, but you had second thoughts. I mean, how could someone like Oikawa like someone like you? Not that you were bad, just not as phenomenal as the famous setter.

Oikawa became very clingy of you very quickly, not that you minded, although it could get annoying at times. He always invited you to sit with him, and he glared down the girls that invited you to sit with them. Whenever there was group projects and Hajime was absent or didn't have the same class as him, he would always pair up with you, moving faster than any of his fangirls did to pair up with him. And oh boy, did he have a lot of fangirls in junior high.

Though Oikawa got jealous extremely easily, the one time that exceeded any character that was known for jealousy was when the three of Kageyama Tobio. Kageyama and Oikawa were never on good terms with each other. Kageyama was naturally gifted with physically advantages and tactical intellect, where Oikawa had to work on it to achieve such advantages. He hated how Kageyama was so good at everything. He hated how he got all the coaches praise. He hated how Kageyama was bound for greatness and everyone knew and noted it. And he hated how Kageyama somehow got a lot of attention from you.

When Oikawa wouldn't help him set, you taught him other things in the gym right after school. Even though you weren't a setter, you actually, believe it or not, we're the acefor the girl's volleyball team and were damn good at it. You showed Kageyama how to spike the ball just right, and that actually did help him learn how to set better. Eventually, Kageyama became your 'little buddy' and he always followed you around, which you didn't mind because you thought he was adorable in the process.

Oikawa hated that. He hated it he hated it he hated it. And he pleaded Hajime to never tell you about the whole incident where he almost hit Kageyama out of stress and frustration, because he knew how you would react. Furiously.

Eventually you found that out though, because Oikawa's ex told you when she tried to 'blackmail' him for not spending enough time with her. So she ratted out all Oikawa's darkest secrets to his closest friends, you and Hajime, but neither of you cared. You were just glad that Hajime was there to stop him from making a huge mistake.

Yes, there was a time you called Oikawa by his first name, but then, high school happened.

When you were all first years, you attended another school than Iwaizumi and Oikawa, because yet again, your dad got a new job, southern of Japan. You went to a school in the south, and they went to Aoba Johsai. You applied for the volleyball team at your school, and that year your team went to the nationals. All the three of you didn't talk to each other all that year, because all of you became engrossed in the addicting sport.

For your second year, however, your dad got a promotion, and your family moved back to your old town, and you then went to Aoba Johsai.

Things were extremely different than they were in junior high. The cliques really started revealing themselves, and you had no idea where to sit. You looked over to see Oikawa sitting with a bunch of guys with the Aoba Johsai jackets, or what most of the girls at this school told you, that they were the shining volleyball team. The only faces you recognized were Hajime and Oikawa's. Hajime noticed and waved at you that first day, and you smiled and returned the action. He gave a ghost of a smile and a softened gaze, but you also noticed that your other old friend failed to even look at you. You sighed and sat next to some girls that were in your class.

From the beginning of your third year to now, mid-third year, Oikawa just began to become more popular and more popular, and as time went by, you just came to the conclusion that he completely forgot about you. Hajime, on other hand, began talking to you more and more, and you two became close friends. Which leads to now.

END OF FLASHBACK.

You sighed at those great and terrible memories that began to rapidly invade your train of thought as you slammed your locker shut. Your eyes widened as you heard your first name with the honorific.

"(Y/N)-CHANNN~!"

You looked over, only to see Oikawa waving at you with a surprisingly genuine smile and waving to you.

You hardened your glare as you slowly walked over to him. When you came close enough you bluntly, but quietly said, "We're not friends anymore, Oikawa-san. You can't call me by that anymore."

His once brimming with happiness face faltered, "But, why aren't we?"

You shrugged, "I guess it just— happened? I honestly don't know, Oikawa, we just went our separate ways. It's only natural in most friendship—"

He cut you off, "But you had no problem rekindling your friendship with Iwa-chan." You noticed his eyes held a little of strain, as he began to glare at you, which you had no problem returning.

"Well, that's not my fault. You're the one who failed to even talk to me, Mr. Popular. You spend more time with your fangirls and volleyball to try to rekindle anything with me or any of your old friends from junior high. So don't expect me to—"

"I only ignored you because.. after you left I did a lot of thinking."

You raised an eyebrow, "What kind of thinking?"

Oikawa sighed as he took a step closer, "I realized that whenever I talked to you, I felt a fuzzy feeling in my chest. Or whenever you talked, sat, or spent any of your time with anyone besides me, even Iwa-chan, I felt this strange sense of anger that I could never explain. It turns out that I liked- no was in love with you, and just the thought of you moving schools was just too much so I began to forget you so I wouldn't have to feel the pain of being without you. When you came back, I just couldn't deal with it and ignored you. But now... I guess I know I can't live without you—"

Now, it was your turn to cut him off. You quickly leaned in and closed the distance between both of your lips. You didn't really realize what you were doing until it happened. And boy did your cheeks redden.

You were kissing him, the Oikawa Tooru.

And he was kissing you back.
