It does make quite an epic cosplay costume. You did an awesome job. It's very flattering. What did you use? Craft foam?
Did you get a lot of great reactions from people at con? I am jealous. I am dieing to go to Dragon Con but I am West Coast.
Yeah, so far I have only read the Batgirl one. It was pretty ok. I have my fingers crossed for Teen Titans and Superboy to be good, but I'm not holding my breath too much after what I heard about it after Comic Con con reports.

I did use craft foam on certain parts, it was flashy and light-weight.
I did get a lot of great reactions! Tons of people didn't expect the wings.
Though, I was surprised at how many people who had no idea who I was.
Even had two people say they hated me. But whatever. haha.
Dragon*Con was pretty exciting, a lot of walking though.
Eh, I usually hate hearing reviews, I like to make my own judgment.
I'm excited about it, and I'm sure it'll be just as good as I hoped.

That's what I like about craft foam too. It hurts my back to have too heavy of props these days.
Really? I can't believe people didn't know. That is surprising.
Man, I wish everyone who hates the reboot so much wouldn't take it out on everyone at least trying to give it a chance. I keep getting told mean things just because I wanted to buy/bought the Batgirl book. That sucks. People shouldn't judge a book by it's cover and hearsay before it has even come out, and they shouldn't be mean to someone just because they don't like something.
Dragon Con sounds awesome from what I have heard. I have always wanted to save up and go. I bet WA state anime cons don't compare.
I am not into reviews either. The things I heard were more from the mouths of the creators which disturbed me. I am planning to make my own judgement as well though.
I am not holding my breath, but I am going to give it a good chance. I am afraid to get too excited though. The pairing I like most is being cut according to the author after all. I am glad you are out there spreading more positivity for the reboot though. I know change is hard, but I am excited to see new things.

Those wings were heeeeavy though. But that
was the only heavy thing I had to deal with.

some people hate it. Don't have to like/hate what
everybody else likes/hates. Everybody's entitled
to their opinions, and that we're ALL DC fans, so

to give the reboot a chance. I am afraid to get excited too,

cosplaying an outfit from it. Heck, I've gotten people to actually
appreciate/like Tim's new outfit because of it.
I'm definitely excited for new things too, I think this change will

I was making everything out of Wonderflex and Model Magic but it was way heavier than the craft foam.

I bet they were heavy. I don't think I have ever made anything with wings that they weren't at least a little heavy. I made angel wings so heavy one time that the pressure they put on the corset they were in bruised my ribs all over. I looked like I had been in a fight... ah... the things we suffer for cosplay.

It really means a lot to me that you said that on Tumblr since I just left Tumblr because I was being cyberbullied on there about wanting to buy the new Batgirl 1 comic and about not liking Starfire. I don't get mad and seek huge groups of people on someone when they don't like the same characters or plotlines I do so I don't understand why I had to be treated like that. You really said it. We are all DC fans so why do we have to hate on each other? The normal world does that enough at us for being nerds. Can't we all band together? Who cares if we don't like the same characters or plot lines. It doesn't mean we can't all be friends and celebrate our fandom. They are just opinions about fictional characters. That is no reason to start calling real people mean names and sending hate their way.

Yeah, I live in a suburb of Seattle. I was talking about Sakura, Kumori, and Aki. I like Aki but it is very small. Sakura isn’t all that great, although I have experienced it from the inside way too much. The convention center has an awkward layout, and the staff really doesn’t like cosplayers although everyone cosplays anyway. They are trying unsuccessfully to push it into being an “Asian Culture Con” as opposed to an Anime con. Kurmoi is just a nightmare. Never go there. It’s a waste of money. Aki is small but fun and warm from what I have experienced. My favorite cons are definitely middle America cons like Nan Desu Kan and Anime Oasis or California cons like Yaoi and Fanime. Anime Expo is only worth it if the location is Anaheim or else there tends to be long lines to everything out in the sun (and by long I mean 4 hours). I am dieing to go to Comic Con. I still haven’t been. I’ve been too broke since college to travel much.

Supposedly Emerald City Comic Con is getting larger now. We used to go when it was tiny. I guess Jet City Comic Con is pretty small as well. What are the cons there like? I hear some of the cosplayers can be sort of mean and judgmental on the east coast. I hope that isn’t true. I only know a couple of people who moved here from there though. It is slowly becoming rather clickish here at the Seattle photoshoots which is sad. Do you guys have monthly photoshoots there?

I agree. I hope it turns out great. My gf is certainly getting excited for the Jason Todd book, and talking to you has gotten me excited for the Teen Titans one all over again. I was scared for a while from the Comic Con quotes I read. I think it is really sad too that people have been saying they want more female DC artists and authors and they are turning around and bullying the author for the new Batgirl comics who happens to be female. I think she is doing a great job so far.

I have to give you major props for cosplaying from the reboot to try and spread appreciation. You look great, and it’s a great positive way to try and show people just how cool the costume can look. I was honestly rather on the fence about Tim’s new costume when I first saw it, but I think it will look a lot cooler in action. I am excited that Kon will actually finally have a costume again somewhat as opposed to teeshirt and jeans… it’s like it’s superhero casual day all the time with him.
Talking to you has definitely helped to give me more hope for the reboot. It is hard to stay positive with everyone else forming a sea of negativity. Thanks for the encouragement.
