A B I L I T Y : Sub Zero
• Can freeze his surroundings
• Sends blasts of ice at his opponent, freezing them in place.
• Can form ice weapons (still undeveloped. He has yet to learn how to use this)

L I M I T A T I O N S :
• Can only freeze the ground in a 5-10 meter radius (depending on the concentration of water in the area) around him. Opponents in the air will be untouched (i.e, if the opponent jumps aside as the freezing is coming towards them). Objects that have been frozen (i.e, a lamp post) may reach the opponent and freeze their feet, causing them to be immobile.
• Can only use his ability when concentrating. When he loses concentration, the ice that he had formed shatters and melts away.
• In order to use his ability and to keep the surroundings and opponents frozen, Sho has to continuously lower his own body temperature. Once he lowers it to a certain point, his body will involuntarily start shaking violently, causing him to release his ability.
• Using ice weapons will also cause frost bite. The longer he uses the weapon, the more severe his frostbite will be.
• His ability can only be used when the area is moderately (or highly) concentrated with liquid particles.

R E M U N E R A T I O N : Eating a large bowl of shaved ice (kakigoori). His favorite flavor is melon soda and matcha.

P E R S O N A L I T Y :
• Timid - Sho is still extremely self conscious about his appearance. He has tried dyeing his hair before but his hair changed back the next morning.
• Pacifist - Sho swears to never use his ability to kill. He hates violence and prefers to settle things quietly instead of causing an uproar.
• Fair - Even though Sho prefers not to use violence, he will not hold back from protecting people close to him as well as other well-beings, including humans.
• Warm hearted - Sho likes to put his priorities in helping others, although he prefers not to deal with his rivals.
• Tech nerd - Sho's older brother influenced his love for technology. If there's a new gadget that just went on sale, he already knew about it months ago. His favorite gadgets are cellphones and likes to mod them to however he likes.

E X T R A N O T E S :
• Has a large burn scar on his back from the past.
• Sho always wears at least 4 layers of clothing (tank top undershirt, t-shirt, button-up shirt, sweater vest) when indoors to maintain his body temperature.
• Sho loves hot tubs and dry saunas. You'll often find him in one or the other whenever he's free. Otherwise, he often dozes off under a kotatsu.

T H E P A S T :
Sho was born in Hokkaido, into a loving family with an older brother and nurturing parents. As a baby, his family adored and spoiled him, and his brother would excitedly teach him everything he knew about the world. Sho grew up to be a somewhat normal boy, with a few quirks. He would always be cold and sickly, but his parents would dismiss it as Anemia since it runs in the family. They simply wrapped him up in layers of clothes and told him to go run and play with his brother.

It wasn't until Sho turned 15 when they started to notice that something was wrong. Sho's black hair and eyes started changing color, and his skin turned ice cold. Sho himself became frightened by his appearance. His friends and classmates would shy away from him, and even the school staff placed a delinquent label on him for his weird hair color, even though he was top 3 in his grade, excellent at sports, and part of the student council. In the end, his brother was the only one who would treat him normally, although mostly it was because he was scared of Sho.

One night, Sho awoke to find himself in an unfamiliar place, stripped naked and strapped down to a steel table, with his mouth gagged and his eyes blindfolded. His parents had paid a fraud doctor to cure his "illness" with Eastern Medicine. The doctor believed that if the patient is cold, he needs to be "heated up".
While the fraud was lighting a fire underneath him, his family was watching him. His father called out, "We're doing this for your own good! We love you Sho, and we want you to be cured." Sho only sadly thought to himself, "If you love me, why are you trying to kill me?"

As the fire started heating up the metal table, Sho's heart started beating faster and faster. "I don't want to die, please don't let me die!" A muffled scream tears through his throat as the heat started searing into his skin, bringing him extreme agony and despair. Then suddenly, everything turned black.

When Sho came to, he realized that his binds were frozen, and easily broke apart. A dreadful sight appeared before him after he undid his blindfold: the room was frozen solid, as if he was in an ice cave. His family and doctor were laying strangely still on the ground, surrounded by a pool of red liquid. "...blood?" Realization flooded him. He had killed them. He had caused a blizzard that froze the room and shook the room so powerfully that the forming but dangerous icicles hanging from the ceiling fell and pierced through them. Tears slid slowly down his face as he stared and sobbed silently at the tragic scene.

Feeling drained, his back was screaming in pain, and still being clothes-less, an inner will was urging him to move and find somewhere safe to stay, before anyone comes in and discovers the bloody scene. A strong craving also clouded his mind..."shaved ice..I want shaved ice.." Part of him wondered why he would want that sort of thing all of the sudden, because he had never really liked eating shaved ice except on intensely hot summer days. But another part of him realized that if he didn't eat some soon, something bad may happen to him. Sho picked himself up and stumbled over to the dead bodies. He found that his clothes were laying in a stack next to his family; apparently they thought that the doctor would heal him, and never realized that the doctor was a fraud. He bit his lip, trying to hold back his tears as he went to shut their shocked expressions. Then, after muttering a rather reluctant apology, he went through the doctor's pockets and found his wallet. Inside was enough for him to survive for a couple days.

T H E P R E S E N T : Sho staggered out of the torture chamber, squinting at the horizon as his eyes were stunned a bit by the sunlight. The place was completely unfamiliar to him. He didn't even know if he was in Japan anymore. Still, he had to find some shaved ice to eat. Gathering up his courage, Sho stumbled around the area, hoping to find someone who would tell him where he is. His back was shrieking in pain by now, making him tremble and pant from shortness of breath. Soon after, his legs gave in, and he collapsed onto the ground.

"..... ...
... ...."

"Oh, you're finally awake?" Sho groaned as a reply to the voice, and opened his eyes, staring right into the face of a young girl. Shortly after jolting up from surprise, he mumbled a few words of apology from bumping his face right into hers, making her yelp and cry a few words that shouldn't be coming out from a child's mouth. Looking around, he found that he had been taken to someone's home, probably the girl's, and realized that his back had been patched up with bandages. "How long have I been asleep..?" He asked, watching the girl rub her pained nose. "A few days or so. Do you want anything to eat?"

"..... .... .....do you have any shaved ice?"

After exchanging stories with each other, Sho learned that he had become a contractor, and the girl who had saved him, had become a doll. The two of them decided to team up with each other, and traveled around for 2 years, sometimes doing odd jobs to earn their money for a living, and other times learning about the lives of the outside world.
They discovered a mysterious letter in their pockets one day, it was an invitation to join an academy for beings like them. They decided to accept the invitation, and see what awaits them.
