Description
The Human Condition Collection - Part OneI took this shot with my old 1000d, one of the first shots i took. I've always wanted to do something with it, so decided to finally do an edit and see how it looks.
Statement wise, its pretty self explanatory. I think seeing the horrific shots coming from the oil spill in Louisiana, (Here's a link to some images Ive seen, [link] ) Subconsciously influenced me to start working on a collection based around pollution, human interference, etc... A lot of the themes I've already worked with. So expect more of the same. I still have never finished a collection and been satisfied with it, so hopefully this one will come together.
I'm sorry for my absence from DA as of late. I've had a lot on, and a lot of distractions. It's really irritated me since Ive just brought such an incredible camera and lens, I really need to get out with it more. But expect a lot more submissions from now on. I will be shooting a lot. Thanks for all the support. Let me know what you think.

I love that you strive to actually SAY something with your collections. The oil spill has been horrific and the consequences of how it's been handled doubly so. Our beaches, our livelihood, our natural world...all tainted now. And even worse, blatant neglect like this is happening all over the globe. I wanted to thank you for bringing so much thought to your work. It's a motivator that we shouldn't sit idly by.

I really love how grainy the picture is. It works perfectly with the message of the picture. It was a good idea to go with the sepia-type photo.

This is an increadibly powerwful shot Very well composed. The contrast between the sky and the smoke is great and the helicopter adds focus

very nice. unusual. the texture you have added to it makes it appear old, looks like a newspaper clipping. i think this needs to be on a poster to prevent pollution xx

Aha no they had no choppers in the 50s, well... they did, but they didn't look anything like modern helicopters, and were seriously rare, unreliable and dangerous.
Thanks for the comment Sofie
