Description
The Human Condition Collection - Part OneI took this shot with my old 1000d, one of the first shots i took. I've always wanted to do something with it, so decided to finally do an edit and see how it looks.
Statement wise, its pretty self explanatory. I think seeing the horrific shots coming from the oil spill in Louisiana, (Here's a link to some images Ive seen, [link] ) Subconsciously influenced me to start working on a collection based around pollution, human interference, etc... A lot of the themes I've already worked with. So expect more of the same. I still have never finished a collection and been satisfied with it, so hopefully this one will come together.
I'm sorry for my absence from DA as of late. I've had a lot on, and a lot of distractions. It's really irritated me since Ive just brought such an incredible camera and lens, I really need to get out with it more. But expect a lot more submissions from now on. I will be shooting a lot. Thanks for all the support. Let me know what you think.

Your very welcome. Yeah I can see what each photograph of yours tells. I may have to take a look at my old photography images that I took a while ago and decide whether or not I will have them posted. I am also going to have to consider my work to be mostly digital paintings.

only then will you discover you cannot eat money.

With all the models and simulations we run, we know what our impact is and the rate at which our damage is progressing. On the flip side we also know how limit, stop and reverse the majority of it yet as a whole we choose not to act.
That helicopter makes me wonder if that isn't a power generation facility.

It's actually a brewery believe it or not! But the sheer amount of steam coming out makes it look very negative and industrial

That is some dramatic artwork. I enjoy the textures you chose to get the right affect across. Beautiful display of a morbid situation.

I like this shot and the message it sends, have you ever thought of submitting such work to a NGO like Greenpeace? I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

I used to work for Greenpeace locally so I am sure they'd go for something of this nature. Recently they had a few 'design a logo' (the biggest one being around the time of the BP oil spill) and they had a lot of responses, so even if your work isn't chosen it would get it out there for a different audience to see. They seem to be doing these sorts of promotion/campaigning a lot now so the time is right. Of course if you are feeling quite philanthropic you could always donate some of your artwork to a NGO like Students for Free Tibet

Id be happy to donate some to worthwhile causes, Free Tibet, and Free Palestine being two of them. If it helps in whatever small way, it would be a honor.

A great shot. Your focus is clear, as is your message, and it is powerful. You did a good job at keeping it simple, which I think is very important for this series of yours. Very little can say a heck of a lot.

This photo makes me angry. I get a strong war/politics feeling from it and those subjects always make me angry... environmental issues as well. Humans are quite the disease, infecting not just the planet but each other, and this photo undoubtedly begs the question, "What are we doing?" Something is simply not right.

Interesting picture.
I like in this picture that the cloud looks more like a smoke from the cannon than from the funnel.
Good luck
